Nadal beats Hewitt in straights... I watched the first set. Hewitt's groundies actually looked really, really limp when compared to Nadal. Nadal's had so much spin and were so much quicker, while Hewitt's were flatter than I thought they were. Hewitt showed some serious determination though. He kept on fighting even when down 4-1, 5-2....

Just watched the replay of Sets 2 & 3. Hewitt actually played some really smart points, and he demonstrated some wonderful thinking out there. Too bad he's not as talented as Nadal....

Hewitt surprised me with how well he played against Nadal in Hamburg. I was expecting more of the same from him, as well as Nadal making the adjustments to counter Hewitt's strategy...Nadal really didn't allow Hewitt to pull him wide to his backhand side this time.

Federer won his match 7-5 1-6 6-1 6-2. Davydenko is also through after a straight set win over Canas and ext faces Federer which should be a good match. Davydenko is going to really need to go for his shots and take his chances against Federer.

The semifinals are set:

Federer vs. Davydenko
Nadal (who trumped over Moya in straights) vs. Djokavic (who beat Andreev easily)

I was surprised that Novak D was able to beat Igor so easily. Novak was pushing Igor back which is what Igor Has been doing all week against his opponent.

Replay of last year's final... Federer vs. Nadal.

Federer got a stiff test, but beat Davydenko 7-5, 7-6(5), 7-6(7). Nadal beat out Djokavic 7-5, 6-4, 6-2.

Federe Davydenko was an intresting match, to say the least. Good start from Davydenko in both all sets but couldn't close it out.

At the end of NBC's broadcast you could see in the background Novak and Nadal warming up, as they said "So, this ends are boradcast for today" Laughing Rolling Eyes

Man oh man. There's go's his last chance for the "Grand Slam". Federer was trying to be aggrisive off his forehand but he wasn't consistant enough. Missing many forehands. Nadal played great. Going after Fed's backhand. Making Federer play some great shots.

I was hoping Federer would win today and maybe once I would see some make the Grand Slam, once (and only once). I think as the years go by Federer's chances will dwindle.

Yep Fed's chances to get his hands on a the Cup de Musketeers are getting pretty slim; however, I don't think he should be totally written off yet. After all he has been the second best clay courter on the men's side for the last two years.

He seems to still have a positive attitude. He said that if he wins in the future, it will be all that much more sweeter because of all these losses.
