Ana Ivanovic made her second Tier I final of the season when Julia Vakulenko retired at 4-3* in the first set. With the win Ivanovic will enter the top 10 for the first time in her career, knocking Safina out.

She will play either Svetlana Kuznetsova or Justine Henin, who were tied 1-set all when the rain came.

Kuznetsova beat Henin to finish their half-set today.

Later on, in the final, Ana Ivanovic fought back from a set down with an injured ankle to beat Kuznetsova, 3-6 6-4 7-6 (4). Ivanovic had to take painkillers after injuring her ankle in the second set. This is Ivanovic's second Tier I title, and she will crack the top 10 for the first time in her career Monday, entering at No.8.
