I'm an all courter. I've got a decent serve and a severe 2nd serve (which has bailed me out too many times to count)
I've developed my forehand into a weapon, I was blessed with a great backhand from the first time I picked up the racquet. The backhand just always made sense to me. I've been playing for 20+ years, tourney's and USTA leagues...I'm a solid 4.0, but I haven't played since last August. I've been injured (2 knee surgeries, and now torn cartilage in my other knee). Unfortunatley my rehab hasn't gone as well as I'd like. I don't move as fluidly as before (I'd like to say yet, but I just don't know). I've been on the court in the last few days, my serve came back right away as did my forehand...my volleys are a little shakey and my backhand is where the lack of movement really shows....my physical therapist said it will be a few months before I'll be able to play like I was....so we'll se.
That's too bad. I hope you get back to that level. Are you planning to play as much as you used to, or are you going to build up gradually? _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
I prefer singles. I have a fairly hard serve. I can come in off a down the line. I can place my overheads but not smash. I like playing on the baseline the best.
I'm now learning how to come to the net and put a volley away. It has taken quite a few years to reach this stage. _________________ * “The image of women is changing now.
