Will Federer continue his dominance?

Can Nadal keep his claycourt streak alive and improve on quicker surfaces?

How will Baghdatis fare in the defense of his run?

After having a great year in 06, how will Blake do in 07?

How will the round robin system affect the ATP?

How will Roddick fare in a calendar year with new coach Connors?

Discuss. Cool

leftys, this is not about Current Tournaments (since you are the moderator make sure you understand that). I will move this to ATP Polls.

But didn't last season we have discussions in this section?

But that would be ok if you moved it.

No, the Current Tournaments section is only for the current tournaments (Int. Series Gold/Tier II's and up), which the moderator makes topics for every week (during the season). Ask Dave about it (he moderated that section the past two terms).

Will Federer continue his dominance? - he will not be as dominant, but will be around it

Can Nadal keep his claycourt streak alive and improve on quicker surfaces? - yes

How will Baghdatis fare in the defense of his run? - quarter, at best.

After having a great year in 06, how will Blake do in 07? - he will improve.

How will the round robin system affect the ATP? - too early to tell.

How will Roddick fare in a calendar year with new coach Connors? - good. a Wimby final is very possible.

Percy, I moderated it every term I was in Wink

Will Federer continue his dominance? Yes, it will only get better unless someone rises to the challenge. Murray is the only one I see doing that, and Nadal of course. I fear Nadal's tiredness problems will only get worse, and he may have a lapse during the crucial claycourt season. He had a couple of chances to pounce on Federer and really get close to him in the rankings, but failed. Murray is the only other player to beat Federer, and I think his new scheduling will help him rise the rankings.

Can Nadal keep his claycourt streak alive and improve on quicker surfaces? No. It is impossible to keep it up this long, especially the amount of strain he puts on himself. It was proven this season that his type of game played all the time will punish him. He needs to schedule lighter, spend a long time preparing for the claycourt season and try to shorten the points a little (be more aggressive, get to net more, improve serve).

How will Baghdatis fare in the defense of his run? At first I thought that run was a run-off, but he proved me wrong at Wimbledon. I think QF is the farthest he will get. He was lucky to have Ljubicic and Nalbandian (mentally frail opponents) in those later rounds. I don't think he will be as lucky this time, but we never know- the crowd adore him there and he has alot of fighting spirit.

After having a great year in 06, how will Blake do in 07? I think with the right attitude and if he keeps working, he can be even better. I really like Blake and I am relieved he has made more of his potential. He needs a Slam final or Masters shield to his name to justify his number 4 place. I just think he needs to be more consistent and focus most of his efforts on hardcourts. He needs a good A.Open run- hopefully SF + .

How will the round robin system affect the ATP? I don't really like this system at all. For the YEC it is really good since all the matches are between top 8 players. I don't think it is right in the normal tournaments, and people may get bored of seeing repetitive matches. I am really annoyed they have put it in Queens.

How will Roddick fare in a calendar year with new coach Connors? I hope Connors travels with him to most tournaments, and that Roddick keeps improving. He needs to keep his confidence high and his momentum going. I don't want to see anymore shock losses against people like Benneteau!

1. He will have more oppostion this year. Roddick will start to push him more. But he will be #1 when it is all said and done.

2. Baghdatis is a big "if". He's got alot of game but it's very on and off. He has his moments. And I don't know if this years AO will be his moment again. But if I had to choose between yes and no I'd have to say no.

3. Blake I think will fade away abit. He has his moments too. But once the crap hits the fan and the going get's a bit tough. He seems to lose his game a couple of notches. I say he will have about the same year he did this year.

I have no opinion as of right now.

Roddick is going to be the talk all through the year. I expect him to be knocking on Federer's door. Match points again Fed at YEC. It doesn't get much better than that. He should have a good year. Espically a better first half

Well, I think anything he does will surpass last year's first half... it was terrible for him (sort of like mine in FTL) Laughing .

Federer will continue to dominate at the GS where he may win all four. His grass streak will continue. However, he will not be as consistent in other events and will not win as many events.

Nadal will loose more ground - his clay streak will end.

Baghdatis has a huge fan base in Melbourne. It is his best GS and will only loose to Federer. He will establish himself as a top -8 player this year and will be at the Masters cup.

Blake will drop a bit - cannot win big events. Still be in top-10

Roddick will do better than last year. Will only loose to Federer in Wimby and USO. Can loose to either Bagdatis or Federer in AO. Will make at least 1 GS final.

Round Robin Question
