My one win from Scotland has turned into two here. Enough, let us proceed.
I arrived in LA from a week in Florida. I felt good; it was time for a run. I will save you from the normal, boring things. Doublea was there and I hit with him before his Monday match. I did little before, and I will not bore you with the fine details. Truly, the only thing I did before my match was watch Doublea play Edelstein. Doublea lost, sadly. He however agreed to stay around until my first match was completed.
Tuesday came around; my match against Agassi was the ‘Prime-time’ encounter. I know Agassi and am friendly with him, so I restrained myself from the normal banter with my opponent. As I walked onto court Doublea, why I will never know, decided he would counter Valkyrie’s theme song with one of my one. So he decided to blast ‘Casta Diva’ as I walked onto court. Why he thinks a prayer to a goddess is suiting, I don’t know. The match commenced, I had a sloppy game and Agassi broke and the set was rather boring then on out. The second set was not much different (besides I got a warning for coaching because Doublea thought it would be a bright idea to hold up signs that said things like, ‘Callas says: Hit to his backhand!’ or ‘Callas says: Attack that second serve!’). The third was extremely tight until 3-3 when Agassi double faulted at 30-all. I got the break and went on to take the match.
Doublea decided it would be fun to go to the Los Angeles Opera house the day after my match. I of course went along. When we got there, Doublea said he ‘forgot his money’, so I was too nice not to buy a ticket for him. We saw Tosca (MMMAAAARRRRIIIIIOOOOOOO!!!!!!!), it was quite good. Doublea left later that day, and I did little until my next match. That match was against Dave. I had arrived early that day to try and better my chances to get my first back-to-back win this season. Yodavitch was the person my coach had chosen for me to practice with that day. He left soon after however, for his match with Jbors. Finally it was time for me to head to the court. As expected, the first set was extremely close. He managed to get the break after a half-dozen deuces however. The second and third were close as well, I played two very good games in both to get the breaks.
Saturday rolled around; my match with Child was later that day. I hit a little with my coach beforehand. Child is a diva, so I didn’t attempt to make fun of her before the match. I will stop there, I lost, if you didn’t watch, boo-friggin’-hoo.
