With the manufacturing of the roof over Centre Court in place, I wonder whether they will ever put lights over the stadium so they can have one night match per day.... Probably not. I can see that happening at Roland Garros, though. _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself

I seriously doubt it, I think that would be overload. Anyway, I'm sure there would be many people against that (including me). The French however needs to get lights for night matches, a night match at Roland Garros would be very nice. AO night matches are just there, USO night matches are one of the most special things in tennis, FO night matches could be one of the better things in tennis as well. _________________
Personally, I'm a fan of night matches, although I understand why many people believe it wouldn't work at Wimbledon. However, I feel that night matches might help lessen the effects of the delays due to rain.... _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself

not having day matches is one of the best traditions about Wimbledon. when Wimbledon doesn't allow night matches it is being classy, when other events don't they are being stubborn. double standard, yes, but that is the thing about Wimbledon, they can do things other events can't and come off looking refined. _________________

I agree. Same rules also apply when there are no matches on the first Sunday. Only works at Wimbledon.
I'm glad the AO will use instant replay since it seems like such a no brainer. There are a few kinks to be worked out but for the most part tennis really can't screw it up like football has over the yrs. with all the timely delays and still not getting the call right. Tennis should have implemented replay 5 yrs. ago but I guess it's better now than later.
