i try to zone out the sound in my matches, but still if somebody is on the court next to you trying to hit the crap out of the ball and going "HAIIII!!" on each shot, it is a bit annoying.....i actually dont mind if my opponent is trying to copy MS's strokes(heck! it gives me an advantage with my style of game matche up Laughing ) but its the people who copy the string moving, pushing the hair behind the ear, jog in place, push hair behind other ear, bounce the ball 2 times that gets annoying..........

I've personally never seen people going to that extent before, but I've seen people try to grunt like her.

i played a girl like that in a tournament.......im just like "get along with your serve".....but i found that bouncing around the baseline and doing very quick line jumps kind of irritates my opponent and they have a tendency to make an error, so thats my way of countering it..... Very Happy

That's good way of handling it....giving them a taste of their own medicine. Smile

Hah, ive never seen anyone do the WHOLE sharapova pre-serve routine. However, I do check my strings, and I bounce the ball three times with my racquet and then bounce on ground twice. Oh, and another pet hate of mine is when I am about to serve and i notice the other person isn't looking or is swinging their racquet around, it completely messes me up.

Yes. I played a school match today, and my opponent actually dropped his racquet while I was serving. I'm not sure whether it was on purpose or not, it's always annoying.
