I think it is about the Belgian Federation not allowing JHH to support the team because they thought she would not be popular there as she was unable to play. I think the Belgium Federation are stupid for that decision. JHH is part of the team and shouldn't have been dropped for that. It wasen't certain she would have a hard time there. If anything, JHH would have attracted alot of people, I think she is a big star in Belgium.
Would they have screamed at her if she had lost her matches in the tie due to fatigue? I think they would have. This is out of hand.... _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
I'm sure part of Justine's decision was becuase she didn't want to hurt the team's chances.... _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
JHH pulling out, does not look good. I am sure they hate her in Belgium for that!!
Fan are fans and they do not understand. I said it before that there would be a lot of resentment in Belgium. She is in a no-win situation now. If Belgium looses they will blame her. If they win they will say that they don't need her.
I think that Cljisters is much more popular than JHH in Belgium. I wonder why?
Henin has said that she will play for Belgiun in the final.
Henin-Hardenne agrees to play in Fed Cup final
By Philip Blenkinsop
BRUSSELS, July 20 (Reuters) - World number three Justine Henin-Hardenne will play for Belgium in the final of the Fed Cup against Italy in September despite an initial threat from her coach that she would boycott the squad.
The French Open champion's coach Carlos Rodriguez told a news conference on Thursday that the player would be available for the match on home soil on Sept. 16-17.
"Coach Carlos Rodriguez was happy to announce that a restoration for Justine to the national Fed Cup squad has occurred. Justine will be honoured to help Belgium gain their first Fed Cup title since 2001," said a message on Henin-Hardenne's website.
Rodriguez had previously said his charge was unlikely to take part because of what he described as the shocking treatment she received following her withdrawal from last weekend's semi-final win against the United States.
He insisted that Henin-Hardenne had informed team captain Carl Maes that she was too worn out to play after her Wimbledon final loss to Amelie Mauresmo, a week before the semi-final.
However, Maes kept this secret for several days, making it look like she had pulled out at the last minute. She was also encouraged to cheer on her team, then urged not to attend lest the crowd turn against her.
SCANT RESPECT
Rodriguez said Belgian tennis officials had not shown Henin-Hardenne due respect but added that the threat not to compete was never meant that earnestly.
"Debates were opened and truths were revealed from the Fed Cup tie last weekend in Ostend leading to a newer, greater understanding with parties involved," Rodriguez said.
Henin-Hardenne and Clijsters guided Belgium to their maiden Cup triumph in 2001 when they beat Russia in Madrid. But having not played in the competition since July 2003, Henin-Hardenne returned for the first round contest in April against Russia.
Belgium will now be favourites to regain the title. Without Henin-Hardenne, they could have struggled to beat an Italian team featuring top 20 players Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta. Clijsters is second in the world but Belgian number three Kirsten Flipkens is 122nd.
The Fed Cup final will take place one week after the end of the U.S. Open, but Rodriguez made it clear Henin-Hardenne considered the team tournament as important as a grand slam. _________________ www.freewebs.com/tenniswallpapers by myself and x.doublea

Thge way Maes handled this, he's a big jerk. He should be thankful Justine's playing. Imagine if it were McEnroe, or Connors...they would be having their backs turned towards the team for three years.... _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
Justine shouldn't think she is bigger than the team then. Injury? Doubt it. More like she couldn't be chewed taking part but wanted to be seen cheering on her team, still recovering from that loss I see! _________________ Tennis is in the mind...

I thought it was fatigue.... _________________ "Satan is behind Illegal Immigration."- Don Larson, Utah County Republican Tennis Wallpapers, presented by leftys_rock and myself
Henin with a broken leg could still beat the living daylights out of anyone besides Clijsters on the Belgian team and she knows it. she what if she wan't 100%? does she actually think Craybas or Jackson are going to be able to beat her? it was not fatigue, she was sore after her loss and couldn't be bothered for a trivial thing like national pride. _________________
Exactly PSALT. Fatigue? Whatever. Cannot be bothered in other words but doesn't want to be seen turning her back upon her Country. Boooooo. _________________ Tennis is in the mind...
