Darn, Craybas lost, I thought we could have a shot if we beat her. Jackson is down a break in the second, so we may be seeing a 3 setter.

I am slightly worried that Jackson is injured. She lost the third set 6-1, and twice there were unusually long breaks before her serve.......

In the other Fed Cup ties, France and Czech Republic are 1-1 after a long first day. Nicole Vaidisova beat Tatiana Golovin 11-9 in the 3rd, and Nathalie Dechy beat Lucie Safarova 9-7 in the 3rd. Russia are 2-0 up against Croatia. Anna Chakvetadze beat Ivana Lisjak, and Elena Dementieva beat Sanja Ancic, sister of Mario.

11-9 in the third! 9-7 in the third! Talk about marathon matches! Can they do it again tomorrow?

France edged out the Czech Republic after Vaidisova crushed Dechy, Golovin returned the favor to Safarova, and the French doubles team won in straight sets.

Yes, Canada's in World Group II!

Expected final based on the semifinals, USA got thrashed. At least they're still in the World Group...France was awfully lucky vs. Czech Republic....

I wouldn't say USA got thrashed. They made life tough for Belgium yesterday (both 3-set matches), and were unlucky with injuries today for Craybas and Washington.

Yes, but I mean, scoreline wise... I'm a bit surprised Jackson pushed Clijsters to three sets though (correct me if I'm wrong). That's a good confidence builder for Jamea.

Jamea took the first set 6-4
