One of my coaches told me, the new Airflow racquet's have different grip sizes- instead of 4 3/8 or L3, there's Small, Medium, Large, and Extra Large. Is this really necessary?

i guess not; but babolat has come out with their own powerful racquets, the aero blast, and the babolat drive-z oversize racquets. both have pretty high power ratings, but the factor that sets them apart from many game improvement racquets is their encorporation of their new "smart grip" which "is contoured to the shape of the hand" which is probably made for more comfort for beginners. they also look like they have also adopted the cortex system as well

That grip stuff is junk. It's basically a tapered grip, with the top of the grip being narrower than the bottom (for the AirFlow). Shocked

I heard that the best players use a very light racquet and a narrow grip. Makes sense. Rolling Eyes

I don't think so...Federer, Safin, and Sampras use racquets in the high 12 ounce range. Agassi, prior to recent tournaments, always used racquets weighing over 13 ounces. Nalbandian uses a racquet around the 12 ounce range, and so does Davydenko, Ancic, Baghdatis, and Hewitt....

But, yes, people now usually use smaller grips, because it allows you to use the wrist a bit more than a large grip.

I recently changed from Head Liquidmetal to the Head Flexpoint Prestige Midplus and I love it.

Did you see the 03 Pink? It looks so funny. Laughing

And I did, and I liked the Blue, but it was too expensive.

no, I didn't. Could you get me a link to that one?

Blue is great, but the Hybrid Hornet is better and less expensive. You should really try it.

http://racquetdepot.com/product_info.php?products_id=11288

It's limited, so it won't be around forever. But I just think it looked so funny when I saw it in the store. Almost looked like a kid racquet. Head is HUGE.
