That's nice that Pavel's winning again...he has been a solid player in the past, but is just getting old....

Top-seeded Russian Nikolay Davydenko successfully defended a title for the first time in his career Saturday when he defeated Andrei Pavel 6-0, 6-3 to win the Poertschach final. Nice to see some confidence from him right before FO

His claycourt season started at a very low point losing to Hernych in Valencia. He has done very well to get better, reaching the Estoril final, and now winning the title. It is the 4th year in a row he has won a title in the claycourt season. He has SF points to defend in Paris now.

Unfortunately, the Austria tournament will always be on that is less competetive...it's good that he has some confidence now, though.

Also true. So it could be a false sense of confidence

Yes, although I don't think he's overly happy at the moment, seeing that the Austria tournament is pretty empty....
