I say...

Both Kim and JHH beat Petrova.
I have a feeling Dementieva might win both of her matches, making it 2-2. Doubles I would give to Russia.

But even so, I think Kim or JHH could quite easily beat Dementieva...throwing it in Belgium's favour!

The key match is probably JHH v Dementieva...I think that is where it is decided!

I agree with you, although I think the advantage leans towards the Belgian side since both Henin-Hardenne and Clijsters are proficient on clay, althouh both Petrova and Dementieva have shown they can play on the surface. Belgium in five.

JHH is probably not too thrilled with what happened in IW, so she will be careful this time.....i dont know about clijsters' condition and if she is rusty or not, so she is a question mark for now....

It should still be a good tie, but I would be shocked if Petrova beat JHH or Clijsters, however rusty they are.

JHH is 7-1 against Petrova, 7-2 against Dementieva

Clijsters is 4-0 against Petrova, and 9-2 against Dementieva.

I think Dementieva has the better chance of a win, she just beat JHH in Indian Wells and took Clijsters to 3 sets in Antwerp. But the records show that Belgium are the clear favourites for all singles, and could be 4-0 up before the doubles are even played...

That is a suprise, straight sets. Dementieva is really commited to Fed Cup and gives it everything. That will give her confidence no doubt. I am quite glad Dementieva won, she is a good player that should have won 2 grand slams in 2004 but fell apart in the finals...Good win for her, we'll see how the rest of the tie goes. JHH under pressure...

Yes....I'm surprised Clijsters lost. However, she hasn't played competitively to much in the past month, so she's probably a little bit rusty. Henin-Hardenne has to come up with something big now....

I'm not surprised in the least. Dementieva is brilliant! Like I said before this match, she could easily win her two ties...she gives it her all and never really chokes, at least not in the Fed Cup. She practically won Russia the cup last year...she is great! Not surprised at all.

JHH held it together just in time against Petrova, breaking her winning streak...

Dementieva has a respectable 19-7 Fed Cup record, and apart from her loss to Venus Williams last year, she hadent lost since 2002. Probably the most dedicated member of the team, along Myskina who isnt playing.

Tommorow's singles are Petrova v Clijsters, Dementieva v JHH.

Petrova has never beaten Clijsters, but based on Clijsters' perfomance today, I think it will be a tight match. Clijsters in three sets...

JHH v Dementieva will be a great match between 2 experienced claycourters. JHH is probably the best on clay, but Dementieva played well. I think JHH in 3 sets...

BTW, all my predictions this week have been wrong so they dont mean anything today !

I think your prediction for Day 2 is extremely likely. However, both Petrova and Dementieva are capable of creating surprises, so it will be very close in both matches.
