Both players will have to be on the games to pull this one out. Sharapova must serve well and Martina must return serve well and use her smarts to take advantage of every oportunity.

Martina will continue to do well in most tournaments, but she will never be able to consistently beat the top 5 players to win the big championships. The style of the womens game has grown so much even in the time she has been gone from the game. Players like Clijsters, Henin-Hardenne, Mauresmo, Sharapova will always be very hard for her to get past. I am not saying that she will never be able to do it because anything happens once in a while, but a consistent basis will be too tough for her. Also up and comers like Vaidisova, Groenenfeld, Ivanovic, and jankovic will slowly be moving up the ranking and improving and will be tough for her to beat as well.

I would love Martina to get back to #1, but I just don't see it happening with her style of play compared to the top women of todays game. I am very happy with how she is doing now and I can see her creeping into the top 5-10 by the end of the season.

Yes, unfortunately. Although, perhaps he she slices just a tad more, she can get the top two-handers to play difficult low backhands into her strengths. She's doing pretty well, though. She's one of the smartest players on the tour.

Hingis is a great player who has already moved herself up into the top 30. I think as she continues to play more matches against these top players she will become better and soon be up near #5 in the world.

Yes, she has been one of the top players so far this year. She's number 4 in the Race.

It is funny that the two polls in this WTA section is about totally different players. Hingis is a very hard worker and has accomphlished alot since returning to the tour. She deserves all the accolades she gets. Then there is the other extreme the Williams sisters who don't deserve anything.

I guess they would be: Clijsters, Davenport, Henin-Hardenne, Sharapova.
