Up 2-0 I would say that the US would now be favored to take this tie.

Gemany is being a sore loser. they are brushing away Jacksons win saying Groenefeld was playing at only 30% of her potential. they didn't give Jackson any credit.

i think any country would be a sore loser if they lost to an up and comer. espically if she is american and if the match is on clay

It was a great win for Jackson, she held her nerve well and Groenefeld didnt. It's not about Groenefeld not playing her best, Jacson played well under pressure, Groenefeld didnt which makes Jackson the better player. Both had the same type of pressure on them and Jackson performed better.

That is correct, but Jackson had pressure aswell. It was her Fed Cup debut, first time representing her country, huge match, pressure to get the USA to a good start, playing against a much higher ranked opponent etc. I say the pressure was equal on both sides, and Jackson played better. Fully deserved win.

I agree. the only pressure Groenefeld had was being the top rsnked German. also, you are oddly supportive of American players for a Brit. Davenport seems to be your fav. player

I think if Groenenfeld was only at 30% Germany should have replaced her. It is there own fault for playing someone who was not at 100% in my opinion.

Jackson deserves full credit for her win, and Germany should really focus more on preparing for the next rubbers and just accept that they are down 2-0.

Jackson plays Schruff next. I hope Jackson wont give away under the pressure. She can beat Schruff, she just needs to play as well as she can. Despite Groenefeld's play today, I still dont like Craybas' chances of an upset...so Jackson's match will be crucial.

Yes. I hope Jackson can continue this momentum into her next rubber. I hope she doesn't succumb to pressure, though, because I'm sure she realizes how important this rubber is.

there is a chance Muller will take Schruff's place. Schruff has a calf injury.

Amelie Mauresmo suprisingly lost to Francesca Schiavone 4-6 7-6 6-4. Italy lead France 2-1 now. Schiavone is building some momentum over Mauresmo, having thrashed her 6-1 6-1 last October...

Jamea Jackson beat Martina Muller 7-6 6-2 to lead USA into the SF. What a great 2 days for Jackson, and I hope she will take it onto the main tour. It has been a great effort for the USA to win this without any of their top players. Rankings have no effect on Fed Cup, it is completely different to the tour.
