Maybe, but I think on their respective tours, Davenport would have a better serve, Agassi would have better groundstrokes, Davenport would have better volleys, and Agassi would be the better athlete and the quicker player. However, mind you, the men's tour is deeper than the women's tour, so Agassi has to be much smarter with his shots than Davenport.

Lindsay has also had it tough on her tour though (Williams's, Russians), Andre is not better than her in every aspect.

Yes, I sort of overstated the issue, but if you line up their achievements, Agassi has a far more impressive resumé on a deeper tour.

Yes, that's very true. That's why I think TENNIS Magazine made a mistake of making the 'greatest' players for both tours combined, because it just makes the selections much more problamatic. They should have done something like name the 5 great players per tour per month and have a separate 'greatness' measure.

Now, back on topic...

Her running is basically just taking wide steps to the ball. It's pretty bad. I don't think she bothers improving her movement anymore, and really, she doesn't need to.

yes, her long frame allows her to take fewer steps to the ball....same thing goes for other tall players like sharapova....slower steps, but longer steps....but lets get back to talking about WTA backhands shall we?? Very Happy

Yeah i agree. Court won 24 slams, and Sampras won 14, but people generally regard Sampras to be the best ever..

I had to go with Lindsey here. She is very powerful and also very consistent moreso then the others listed.

It is important to be consistent . You are more likely to win a match by being consistent than hitting the ball very hard. You would make alot of errors and opponents could even use your power against you.

Exactly, hitting with power and hitting out alot don't win you any points, hitting consistently and within the lines win you points. I think I would rather win the points and games. Very Happy

Davenport worked so much on targets as she learned her tennis. If she couldnt hit the ball hard (which she can), she would still be a great player.
