the venue is REALLY nice. I liked it alot.

Henin had her knee taped the entire tie. I don't know how serious it is, or even if it's a real injury.

OMG. I think it was a serious injury; I doubt she would retire just because she didn't want to play.

Italy are officially the best country this year for sports. World Cup and now Fed Cup! I like the Italian team, they show passion for the game. Schiavone is a great person, always smiling. I wish she would finally win a title though.

I like Schiavone, but she is mediocre. Maybe top 10 potential, God knows she is better than Petrova, but I can't see her winning a title bigger than a Tier III

When she actually concentrates, her game is great especially on clay. She uses excessive topspin and has an excellent 1-handed backhand. I would just like her to win her first title. She was 6-4 4-1 up in the final of Sydney this year against JHH, and lost.

She doesn't have the game to beat anyone in the top ten besides maybe Petrova or Schynder when they are at their best. The only time I could see her winning a Tier II would be if she got a really good draw and the other player in the final was play horribly.

I am happy for Italy because they showed passion and desire to win. This was lacking from all the other tesms. So many great players NOT taking part. So Italy deserves it.

Btw, I never thought I ever say this, but I can't help but feel sorry for JHH... I would rather see her loose in after a fight instead of the way she lost today.

Wow, who would have thought at the beginning of the Fed Cup that Italy would come out on top.

A very big surprise. But it goes to show if you really want it you can achieve it.

That is true, and also if the top players of nations aren't playing that helps too. Smile

I'm not sure if anybody posted it yet, but Sharapova is playing FC for Russia.

interesting. Russia will need to hope the US beats Belgium, if not they will have to travel to Belgium (I am pretty sure) and either Clijsters or Henin (or both) on clay will spell trouble for Sharapova. I also think that possibly Davenport-Sharapova in Fed Cup will be a nice match, it would have a different dynamic then their old matches.

I wonder how Sharapova will get along with her teammates. On clay is trouble for Sharapova. But she could pull out an upset knowing how JHH can be Wink Kutu is a plus for Russia since she plays the best on that surface out of all of the Russia players
