No I just thought you would hate that I found another "favourite" Razz
I dont really see what was so rude about what she did anyway. So what, she hit her other ball in the stands, she was probably really excited about WINNING against the 6th seed! Whatever, Im sure NEA will have an interesting answer.

She was about to shake Kuznetsova's hand then at the last second spun away from Kuznetsova and hit a ball into the stands. That's something usually reserved for after the handshake or before both players are at the net.

Good point! I think they teach you how to cramp at Soccer camp. Very Happy They also tell you to fake a cramp while you are ahead and let the clock run out. So I guess Baghdatis forgot that this was a tennis match and the clock does not run out. Laughing Laughing Laughing

This Open has been great with all the amazing 5 set matches, Agassi's farewell, the Americans actually doing something for a change, but people are overlooking one major thing. This major is always scheduled THE WORST of the 4. If it rains today and the matches aren't played, they basically can't finish the men's tourney on time. I can't imagine they'd expect some of the guys to play 4 matches in 4 days (although the tv bastards will probably make them do it anyways). This tourney should never schedule men's 1st rd over 3 days, especially now when some of the other majors are starting their events on the previous Sun instead on Mon. And people have been talking for yrs. how assinine it is to schedule a semi-final back to back, especially for the men! It's all about the tv, the $, the higher ups really don't care about the players or the quality of tennis. Then when the finals stink, all the haters of tennis just have more ammunition to unfairly attack the sport! The semis-final should always have a day in between. Even if your ratings are lower for the semis, chances are the finals with a day of rest beforehand will be better and that's your $ day ratings wise anyways. It can be done playing 2 5 setters back to back, but it's still an almost super human effort (and that's after playing 5 previous matches).
So now I understand why so many of the foreign players don't look highly at this major (we all know they biasly schedule all the Americans on the best courts and put the other stars out to the hinterlands). The French and British do the same thing, but the Americans take the cake in making their major feel like only their players count. I've always been shocked at how during CBS opening preview before they show matches, all the previous champs they show are Americans (even the one hit wonder Roddick). I can't help thinking that fairly recent champs like Lendl (originally a Czech citizen), Rafter, Edberg, etc. won multiple USO but there's no mention of them, but they put overrated or annoying Americans look Roddick and the Williams' sisters on (those 3 aren't in the same company as McEnroe, Connors, Martina, BJK) To me it comes off as way to xenophobic!
Wake up guys who run this major. I think most intelligent American sports fans, especially tennis one's, don't care if someone isn't from here. As long as they're very good, like Fed, Nadal, the list goes on, people want to see the best. Makes me think- did people not want to listen to the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, U2, etc. just bec. they weren't from here. Of course not, they were extremely talented and marketed well so Americans loved them.
Hopefully, the rain holds off a bit today and the 4th rd matches are completed, and the final can finish on Sun. But to me rain (something you can't control) or not having access to indoor courts isn't the main reason why this major is run so poorly and aimed way too much at tv. I even thought, outside of Agassi's matches, the CBS coverage stunk this weekend. I mean why did they put on Roddick-Becker when we all knew Roddick was going to steamroll the guy? There were many more attractive matches on then that. The USO is my favorite major but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that their coverage, scheduling of the event, unfair treatment of foreign players leaves much to be desired!

I agree some, I do think that too much emphasise is put on American players. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Americans do well but the TV schedules shouldn't revolve around showing them. I would think the crowd would show the TV Excutive's that we focus isnt on the American players, the crowd loves some foreign players, Gasquet, Mauresmo, Federer, and Nadal mainly.

NOOOOOO Crying or Very sad

Lindsay goes out 4-6 4-6. Oh well, at least she wasen't thrased or anything. Considering she just made her comeback, a grand slam QF is very good. Now I hope she can defend Bali and have a good end to the season. Disappointing loss but she has done well so far.

Lindsay lost, but she has alot to take from this. I really hope she continues.

I truly don't see how Doublea can like Henin at all. Multiple times she screamed ALLEZ at Lindsay (not to pump her self up but she was trying to bully Davenport). Take out all her cheating, her antics on court are enough not to like her.

I like Justine as a player, not as a person. I wanted Lindsay to win, and this is disappointing. However, she had a good touranment.

I don't really like her game now either. On clay she can produce some great tennis, but on other surfaces she just gets the ball back and waits for people to make errors. It is annoying because she has a 'small' baseline game and yet always stays with the bigger groundies. I am getting a bit bored of her now.

On another note, Haas roared back and kicked Safin out of the Open. Why can't Safin maintain a lead?

I do think her game is overrated. She has a very effective baseline game that shines on clay, like Dave said on other surfaces she usually stays back and hits a boring ball. People like Davenport, Seles, the Williams, Graf made a baseline power game pleasant to the eyes. Henin doesn't have that, she just looks like a Smurf on steriods and plays the same way. Her game simply doesn't look natural. I am not saying she uses steriods but you cannot deny that the way she hits the ball isn't normal.

The way she hits the ball is a testament to her abilities. I've never seen someone who's 5'5 who can hit the ball so hard.

yes, but that's my point. she plays bigger than she is and it's just not pretty to watch. because of the racquet speed she is forced to use she isn't graceful on court.
