Williams Series Venus (Day 9)Wow! What a draw! Every first round match is a blockbuster! I get PSALT is my opener  which is my only goal. Yodavitch and Bizet face off in round 1 also which is interesting. Child and Yodavitch are on opposite sides of the draw....
What are your thoughts?

WOW, an all member quarter!  Winner of me-Dave gets winner of Agassi PSALT! Jbors J-man first round on the other side. Johnny Edel faces x.doublea in the first round.

I have a first round match with Jbors. Aggasi2000 you shouldn't be to mad that you have PSALT in the first round  He hasn't been "on" lately

You count one additional tier II/III/IV tournament (so the 6 best instead of 5) for him because he didn't get a chance to play in the tier I that he applyed to.

I quite liked the preview actually, concise and to the point. I hated the blog though (you wore a cross...? what is with that?)
I think PSALT will win this Venus Series, we are all waiting for him to come up with this amazing result well perhaps it will be tonight...

The all-member bottom quarter was very close, all matches were 3 sets. I beat leftys 7-5 in the final set, PSALT beat Agassi 4-6 6-3 6-3. PSALT then beat me 5-7 6-4 6-3. Unfortunately, he lost to Child.
Jbors ended Yodavitch's streak! and is in the final!

Child won in three. good run by Jbors though. all the members did very well, even when they lost they gave great fights.

Yep well done everyone! The Williams Series are the toughest tournaments IMO because the draws are so packed. We almost had an all-member final! Jbors' run was huge, esp. the win over Yodavitch. He also had tough wins over J-man and Jennacourt, and put up a fight against Child.

I can't find the questions thread, and this is over anyway.
I have been meaning to ask this, but keep forgetting. Percy, since the Nalbandian Open was downgraded to a Tier II, what will happen with those defenses? If I did defend my title, would I end up losing points?

thanks. there were a few moves by members. Jbors jumps into the top 15, landing at No.13. Doublea fell to 16th. then JoJo has fell to 10th and is in danger of dropping from the top 10

Unfortunately yes. Even if you defend your title you will only keep 195 points instead of 300. But think about it this way: You are holding points right now that don't even exist!

I noticed something. Aztec is getting really bad luck. He own a tier 1, and then had the worst possible draws after, playing players like Child and Yoda in the first round. Notice he made all those matches close. I still think he is playing well and could definately be a factor soon.
