Will Blake hold the 8th spot? Will James Blake hold the 8th spot in the Race and make the Masters this year? Discuss.

Last year he picked up at the end of the season. Somehow, I don't see this happening again...

So you think Haas, Moya, or Ljubicic will overtake him before the Masters?

There are a lot of threats. Moya is having an excellent year. I think that that Gasquet will definitely make it as he will do well in Paris. Robredo is also a threat.

Don't forget Ferrer, he has been playing stellar on hardcourts.

Ferrer is already at #6, so I think he will probably make it. The real debate it that 8th spot, which Robredo has now taken.

It seems Tennis Fan's prediction is coming true, as Blake has already fallen to #10 in the Race.

Blake has been struggling and now that it is coming down to wire. 10th place is too far out to get back IMO.

It is really close... all these have a chance. I like to see Gasquet get in. I have a feeling he will do well in Paris

I said it twice in this threat that Gasquet will do well in Paris ....
I should have been a betting man.
Btw, the only one who can keep Gasquet out is Marcos... Not a bad position to be. My two favorite players
I was checking the stats yesterday and knew that the only way Marcos would stay alive was the following:
QF:
Marcos beats Robredo : Done!
Nadal beats Youhzny: Done!
Gasquet beats Murray: Done!
Nalbandian beats Ferrer: Done!
SF:
Marcos beats Nadal
Nalbandian beats Gasquet
F:
Marcos beats Nalbandian

It would be quite the story if it all falls in place for him....

I guess it didn't... Gasquet completes the field as Nadal beat Baghdatis 46 64 63.

Yep! this is what I said for Gasquet one month ago: "...I think that that Gasquet will definitely make it as he will do well in Paris."
I had a feeling... and I am so glad for him.

Nalbandian achieved such an increadible feat that I am sure it is a first.
While ranked outside of the top-20 he won back-to-back Masters events by beating No1 twice, No2 twice and No3 once!
Kudos to him!
