In the O3 series, the White is the most similar.
In the Tour series the Triple Threat Warrior Racquets is the most similar.

I really not sure. I just know I have always been comfortable with the Prince racquets even since I owned a Jr. when I was a little girl.

O3 technology is the making of bigger holes on the grommet system in order to enhance string movement. This apparently allows for a bigger sweetspot and heavier spin. Meanwhile, nCode technology is the filling of the micro voids of racquets in order to receive full energy of contact. Many companies have nCode technology(Wilson, Babolat, and HEAD to name three).

I believe that Babolat was actually the first company to figure it out. It's just they didn't spend as much into the marketing of the racquet as Wilson did. I guess they (Babolat) made a business mistake!
|

well not really. the woffer system seems to have worked out alot. babolat's one of the most popular rackets out there

Babolat's Woofer System was a copy of Yonex's Muscle Power. It's just Babolat is much more prevalent in NA and Europe than Yonex.
|
J-man

well i can see why there are more previlant in america.

Obviously, Yonex is more popular than Babolat in Asia.
|
J-man

yes because yonex is an asian company. but in away i'm surprised babolat isn't popular in france. since it is a french company. it seems head has ruled france pro racket wise. i guess not that many star french players are using babolat

stick with what you like. if you like your wilson Ncodes stick with your wislson Ncodes. if you don't like your wilson Ncodes then think about changing rackets.

I agree, there are a lot of people at the club where I train that says I should change to the O3 because it is the new wave of tennis, but if I am comfortable with my shark racquets why go out and spend hundrends more on something new that you may not like as much in the long run.

alrighty....first im gonna see how much the 03 costs....if its too high, im not gonna consider switching.....but i would like a little more power in my shots....but i think that it is the string problem....

Yeah I would definetly see how much it costs, but the string change may be the best route to take at first.

I have talked to my dad about some sponsorships. He is the coach and manager for my sister and she has a few sponsors including one with Yonex the racquets she uses. He has been too busy with my sister as she has just went from the Junior Tour to the WTA and I have been training with a local pro in Quebec until my sis gets on her feet. I will continue to play some 14's this year and will hopefully enter in the Rogers Cup in Montreal this year.

As I said before, you really need to sacrifise school in order to be a top ranked player on tour. The question is, are you willing to make that committment? For me, I've already answered the question.

My dad who is the coach of my sister has always made it clear to me, my sister and older brother that school is the biggest priority in life. Yes I and my siblings have had to dedicate alot of time to training gettting up at 4:30 a.m to practice before school and then practice again after school is over. You do alot of homework in the car between places. Then the weekend is almost the same, but you get to sleep in til about 7 a.m.. I am very dedicated to school holding a 93% in my first year in secondary school. I also have goals that I would like to reach in tennis and am very dedicated to that. I love tennis very much and have been dedicated to this goal since the age of 4.
|

yeah, school is a high priority....some tour players take school online, but they probably dont get as good of an education as us.....
|

i know nicole vadisova took school online. by the way how is it to take school online??? how does it work???
|
leftys_rock

oh, ive taken this class online so that i could move up in math....u just get this program that is like a class....theres a quiz and stuff too....and notes etc.....and practice stuff...and u have a tutor that u can email if u have problems......i dont know if this is what vaidisova does though.....that is my idea of online school...
|

Yes....one of my classes took an online English course over the summer for fun....
|

yeah, i like those....u can go at whatever pace u feel like....like if vaidisova was exhausted from her match that day, she could not do as much...

When I am at a tournament during school which isn't very often, I will get all my assignments from my teachers and any free time I have I will do them (like when I'm eating room service). Also if I have difficulty with any assignment I have my mom and I also have a tutor who goes with me to these tournaments.
|
leftys_rock

oh...that would be nice...i wish i could make such a commitment....

Somedays it is hard, but somedays it is great. I have also seen the benefits from it. I have seen my older brother get to go to the University Of Arizona on a Tennis Scholarship and he will graduate this June. Plus my sisters commitment and the benefits the she has gotten from working so hard. I think it will be a lot easier as I progress and then school is out of the way, at least that is what my sister has said since she graduated in 2004.
|

Yeah I guess your right. I have been playing tennis since age 4 and really haven't experienced any other sports, except swimming which was actually training for tennis and horseback riding. I still try to be a kid though most of the time, but I see my sister's focus has changed since she has just turned pro. She is only 18 , but she has to think about alot like her traveling schedule, money, and sponsors and many other things. As the kid sister I am just looking forward to possibly going to Wimbledon this year with her that would be the coolest.

I know how you feel. My first racquet was a Wilson Hyperhammer for kids, and so the Wilsons have always seemed right to me. Lately, however, I've been wanting a change because the Wilsons are beginning to feel almost bulky. I like the Fischer Spice, does anyone have any feedback about how the racquet works?

Yeah tennis does take a lot of my time away from things, but my step-dad who is my coach makes sure I concentrate on education as well and also being a kid. leftys_rock

yes, we can see that happens when ur on tour........now lets get back to the racquet discussion shall we??
|
Jaded

I think the most important thing about a racquet is how it feels to you. If you are comfortable with your surge than stick with it otherwise, you will be changing your racquets every year when the new product comes out. My motto is sometimes the new product may not be the best product for you.
|
leftys_rock
|
yes, i think ill stick with my surge....maybe ill just change the strings and see what it feels like...
|
Jaded

Maybe have your pro that strings the racquet try a different tension. What you could do is when you get it strung tell the pro what your game is like and he will recommend a good string and tension for you.

Funny you mention that cuz I've been demo-ing alot of different sticks lately looking for more control. I liked the Babolat Pure Drive, and some of the Prince sticks, the Wilson's were just too strange in my and...and very heavy...I skied quite a bit with these...the head size was too small for me...the best candidate so far is the Yonex sticks. Great control, enough power, light and manuverable.....but very pricey.

That's so funny. I feel completely the opposite. I've been using Wilson's all my life because I can't stand lugging a big racquet all over the court. I have always loved the Wilson Hammers because to me they are the lightest feeling racquet. I have recently liking Fischer racquets too, even though they are a bit clunkier. They have the same soft feeling as the Wilsons.

Interesting....which Yonex model did you try? Because I know that there are Yonex racquets which as light, such as the RDX 500.
I think Babolat racquets are really bad. No feel, and you can't feel when the ball hits the sweetspot.
