Ah, Virtua Tennis 3! I played it in an arcade in Singapore (I stopped there for two days during my trip to Hong Kong). I was very impressed with it. The players all have more pleasing strokes than those in Topspin 2, and the graphics are about the same. Furthur more, the strokes of the players look like they actually belong there. For example, Nadal's strokes belong to Nadal, and Federer's belong to Federer. Possibly even better than Topspin (2).

I thought it was too bad they couldn't get the logos and stuff. Some of the stuff they're wearing is kinda weird. It probably would have made it more realistic. And there wasn't a Mauresmo with a two handed backhand there right? Laughing

They just did that for the PSP version, which I have no idea why. The only flaw I could spot in the new game from the short time I played the arcade verson was, besides the name thing, was that it's one of those games where you dive at every ball that's beyond reach. Makes the game rather unrealistic. But, this game is a much faster one than Topspin 2. Actually, Topspin 2 got a bit boring, so whenever I get to play a game now, which is not often (like, once every two weeks), I play the original Topspin.

I find the original way more boring. Anyway, how realistic were the shots, and was it more fun than top-spin 2? I will probably still buy this anyway, im just curious.

Well, you know how a lot of the time in Topspin 2, the players would hit really awkward shots only with their arms, or really jerky swings? Doesn't happen in this game. The swings are basically perfect. The speed of the game is around a happy medium between Topspin 2, which is somewhat slow, and Topspin, which is really really fast. However, it's one of those games where the shots have a yellow tail behind them, if you know what I mean.

You mean like when the ball makes contact w/ the racquet, theres like a flash?

Hmm, I dont know if I like those arcady style yellow streaks. However the graffics look great, so I will check it out. I wish serena was in it though, although I dont know how you would make a serena in a game, she would win because you could make her not miss, and still have her talent.

The graphics look great. How is the actual tennis though? Is it really slow like Topspin 1, or better? Any idea when this comes out in the UK?

Well, they said it comes out Early in 2007. Not sure of the exact date though.... the actual gameplay's excellent. A bit slower than Topspin 1, which was the fast one, and much faster than Topspin 2, which was quite slow. The game is really good. I'm not sure whether the arcade version's the same as the XBOX/Playstation version, but I was really impressed with the arcade....
