I'm not sure I exaclty get your question. But I don know that when you hit your 2 handed backhand you left hand (if you are a righty) is driving the ball. So in a sense it could be like a left handed forehand.

For a righty, the double-handed backhand is still hit with the dominant right hand. It is just like a 1-handed backhand, but the left hand is just guiding the ball.

When I used to have a two handed backhand, my coach said that the right hand(for me because i'm a lefty) was swinging like a forehand guiding the shot while the left hand was the driving force. So I think that could be the same thing said for righties.

Wow, I have always hit my backhand really wierd then. Never used my left to help it. This should help me improve a lot, thanks.

Wait, do you have a two hander or a one hander? Since my right arm is so uncoordinated for tennis purposes, I have a one hander. Because my right arm just gets in the way.

Two hander. Im right handed.

So your left hand is just hanging onto the racquet on your backhand right? And has the backhand been a strength or a weakness for you?

Yes thats right. If I get my backhand right, however, I can pound winners. If not it goes EVERYWHERE! Its getting better, and Im going to go play tonight and see how it goes.

If you have time, try a one hander and see how it feels!

I have, I can only slice properly, otherwise its completely screwed up. I sometimes use it on the run or against a fast serve. I love having a 2 handed backhand.

Oh, so you can't come over it. If you have the left arm working in your two hander, you should be good to go, so have fun in practice today!

on a two-handed BH your left hand (for rightys) shoudl be the more important hand. a trick that many coaches use for teaching it is to start their righty off practicing left handed FHs.

Yes, the left hand sohould bue used more. If the right hand is dominant on the backhand, than you will basically be void on power....
