I think the article was bias towards Young, the writer spun the idea the he would get stronger and be able to pound balls as well as he "caresses" them now like it is a fact. Young is hyped and when he gets into main draws he falls on his face. he should not be given wildcards, they should be given to be that deserve them, like people that can get games let alone matches.

It was a bit biased, but many of the points are well spoken. He has time. I hope he doesn't want to start blossoming at 25 though....

Yep. He is crazy to be accepting wild cards into the main draw. I am sure they do not do him any good. He would be better off going through qualifiers to get into the main draw.
For example, Baghdatis in 2003 was Junior #1 in the world and won the Australian Open and reached the final at the USO. Yet, after he turned 18 he took it easy, played challengers and qualifiers. In 2005 he reached R16 in the AO after coming off the qualifiers and lost to Federer. Going from qualifiers into the main draw can always provide the needed momentum to win a few sets or even a match or two. Thats the smart way to do it.

I agree. I hope his wild cards aren't discouraging himm though, because it can be a problem if it does....

I would be suprised if it isn't hurting his confidence. he was great ta juniors but gets to the senior level only to get destryoed, 6-0 6-0 by a qualifier, that's bad.

Yes. Not to mention that the qualifyer lost love and love in the next round.

Or even worse that 29 year old that was ranked outside of the Top 200. He was metioned in the article

This is very bad for his career. He should be playing juniors and making his way up from there. It is clear he is not ready, it has been clear since his debut at the beginning of 2005. The 6-0 6-0 loss should have drilled it into everyone's mind that he isn't ready yet.

if that one loss didn't you would think 9 straight 6-0 6-0 losses would.....

I know Young has a lot of potential, but if he's so good why isn't he winning a lot of Junior Major Titles. I believe he's only won 1 to date. That's not that impressive. Is he still the #1 ranked junior? Seems like other guys are winning the junior major titles and they're from where else, Europe right now.

He's not 1 right now in juniors. He's like 4 or 5. He had early losses in the FO and Wimbledon boys Championships

If he's having difficulty at the junior level, he's got no business to be in the pro level....

That pretty much sums it up.
