The Dubai Tennis Championships (ATP)As ususal all the stars will be in Dubai. The money offerred in this event is amazingly high so everyone enters.
Best first round match: Nadal - Baghdatis
Baghdatis has no pressure as he cannot improve his ranking unless he reaches the SF. In addition, his winning streak was halted at the final in Marseilles. So look for a Baghdatis win in 2 sets!

This is obviously a blockbuster match, but it ought not to be in the first round. Baghdatis has to pick up his ranking, obviously.

It is Dubai afterall, this event attracts some of the best fields on tour. Baghdatis is still well inside the top 20.

Plus Dubai does offer hefty entry fee's. Baghdatis Nadal is an incredible first round match. I'm going with Baghdatis in 3.

What Dubai does is actually wrong (paying players to enter). Plus, I personally think the players should boycott the tournament all together, as the tournament organizers have some really lousy vies on human rights (rejecting player entries because they are Jewish in this day and age?).

I do agree. I am not a huge fan of the Dubai event. Peer cannot even play in Dubai because Israel is not reconized as a country by these people.

Dubai is one of the most forward thinking places in the Middle East. It is truly an amazing place to visit. I have been there and have visited the Dubai Tennis stadium too. I have also been to Bahrain at the Formula 1 grand-prix site. I have not been to the other countries. My dad always hated visiting Saudi, Kuwait, Qatar and the other religious extreemist countries in the region. But Dubai did not feel like that at all. It has a European feel to it.

ok? that doesn't change the fact Peer can't even play there because her passport would be rejected, because in their eyes her country does not exist.

That's not my problem with Dubai. My problem is their politics.

Haas def Rochus 6-0 6-2
Federer has created a little but of a sticky situation for himself. he was up 6-3 and had a break in the second. he got broken back, went into a tiebreak, had a minibreak, got broken back, had a match point then squandered it. he is now at 2-1* in the third against Djokovic.

And it is well known how Mr. Federer feels about Mr. Djokovic.
Edit, Fed won 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-3

Federer lost to Nadal in the finals last year.
Ths year Nadal lost in the QF. SO Nadal will loose 225 ranking points and Faderer will pick up 90. This means the gap opens by another 315 points. Federer 8210
Nadal 4480
Has anyone else ever reached 8200+ ranking points??

It was a rhetorical question!
I mean the whole thing is freaking amazing! He broke Connors record of consecutive No1 weeks so comfortably. Even if he stops playing today, it will take another 9 months before he drops from No1
