No. It's the truth.

I believe in the contrary... Canada is generally much more accepting of different cultures, sexual orientations, race, even sex, than America. We're also keepers of tradition in far more ways than America... I could go on and on for this.
|
jbors47
|
Yeah but xdoublea....America doesn't suck.
|
x.doublea
|
For sure, America's a great country... like, you guys are ahead of us in an infinite number of ways... it's just culturally, we're regarded as a 'tossed salad', or a 'mosaic', where as in Canadian geography textbooks, the American system is much more of a melting pot. Sort of like, they (US Government) prefers immigrants to become integrated into the American culture, where as in Canada, it's different. I learned that from school, so it's not like I came up with this theory...
|
jbors47
|
Wanna know what we learn in school in America? That America kicks all kinds of ass in wars.
Yeah don't take any of what I say seriously, I am just purposely being ignorant for the sake of it.
|
x.doublea
|
I hope I didn't offend anyone... I don't want to be thought of as 'Anti-American', because I"m not. I hope I didn't sound like that.

Agreed. Canadians are much more liberal-minded as a whole, and the mosaic idea is very true. So many different nationalities, Toronto is known as one of the most multicultural cities in the world, if not the most. And not just whites and blacks, but a very large number of italians, of Middle-Easterners, Asians, Africans, South Americans. When I'm in USA I see that too, but not to that extent.

I am the least anti-american canadian in my school. I have conservative political views, and have gotten into tons of heated debates. Most kids are idiots about politics at this age though. They still try to come up with arguments that make absolutely no sense. And no of course you could never offend a butterfly, or even Ying-Chang!

Yeah dude maybe the reason why I dislike Canada is because I have conservative views as well.

We have conservative government in place now.
|

I know absolutely nothing of Canada's government.

Yes, I guess the arguments are sort of like, "Oh, the Liberals are dirty!" (I just said Liberals because I believe that the more rural parts of Ontario tend to be Conservative rather than Liberal (Toronto was 20/23 Liberal, 3/23 NDP). Just, no one at this age cares, which is a shame, because it's about the country.
I'm violently anti-American-government... I'm sure you know why. That's why I don't hate Harper for his political right-wing stance, but rather because he's so pro-Bush it's not even funny....

I went with the UK for no reason, really the US, Aussie's, "US Junior" , and the UK are the favorites. I have no reason to pick a favorite though.

My major problem with Conservatism is that it's so stand still. Like, traditionalism is nice, but you've got to change ideas. As for me, I'm a centrist, neither completely Liberal (left) or Conservative (right). Lilberal social policies, Conservative economic policies for me.

Yes... I'm athiest, so I don't hold anything against abortion.... Personally, my view is, if you don't want to have to resort to abortion, just don't have sex, but if you've got to do it, you've got to do it.

See I am COMPLETELY agaisnt abortion unless the mother's life is in danger. I am for homosexuals couples having the same benefits as married couples, but I am for the protection of the word marriage as a union between man and woman.
Oh and xdoublea, we can never argue, because I will just get really mad because we have such opposing views.

When do you "have to do it???" If you are making the commitment and having sex, you know the consequences It is irresponsible killing since you just don't want to have the baby because its a "bad time" or it will "ruin your life". Dont have sex!

Well, legalized abortion is better than having what happened in the 60s- mothers practicing SELF-abortion in their washrooms. I see your point though....

grass wouldn't be bad either, Jbors has a fast court game. so really thinking about it clay would fit my speed much better than it would Jbors agressive game, so really I scratch that clay one out. hardcourts or grass please.

Although grass is faster, I didnt do too well during grass season. I am hoping for hardcourts myself.
BTW, I am going to bed. Cya all tomorrow.

unfortunatly for you I don't see anyone ever picking clay, so you guys better get to work and win it on another surface. Excluding you and Stevos, every member is a fast court player. Dave is pretty much just a jack of all trades.

We will win it this year, NEA, and it will be held on clay from then onwards! We are the only team with two top 10 players and we have a strong 5-3 doubles record! There is nothing stopping us from the title!
I apologize in advance if I have jinxed us in any way

I would say, that you two are not the only players that can get good results on clay. Need I mention that players like J-man, Leftys, and of course your's truly have gotten better results at the French? You two would be the favorites, but not unbeatable in any way.

Dav and I, overall, are probably the best and more consistent claycourt players. A game like Team Cup loves consistency and on clay I think we would be dominant. Getting it to clay is the challenge though! I agree with dav I think it is ours to lose this season, we have the best team and have been very close on two occasions, we just need to ouse Australia. I am sure they will not win it this year, someone else will, possibly us!

I think you are getting ahead of yourself's a little , I would say hardcourts would be the only surface on which you would be the favorite. Grass for obvious reasons, not carpet simply because neither of you are the best members there. I do think J-man and Leftys will end up picking carpet because both of them are pretty good on it, and also for the reason that it hurts both the UK's and Canada's chances.

I didn't mention it simply because there is no way J-man and Leftys will pick it.

Canada seems to be neglected! stevos's game is meant for a clay court, and I had probably the most consistant clay court season this season....

yes, but since confidence doesn't count do you really gave the game to help Canada win on clay? taking away all confidence you would be much better suited for grass or carpet.
|
x.doublea

True, but being an all-court player, it's not like I'm not proficient on clay than on grass/carpet. It's just I'm not as comfortable....
