Sony Ericsson Open(WTA)Oh my!
The top quarter of the women's draw!
Sharapova, Venus, Serena, Safarova, Vaidisova, Schyder, Bammer all in the top quarter!
Sharapova vs. Venus potentially 3rd round and then the winner of that vs. Serena in the 4th round!
I'll probably post more on the bottom half a little later.

You all forgot to say that Venus will play against Kirilinenko in the second round. Looks like one and out for makiri this time

this time, you mean like the 300th time

That's so ridiculous that those three are so close in the draw. With the way they had been playing, it could easily have been an all-williams final, but they make it unfair for all three of those players.

That's an insane quarter. Sharapova, Venus, and Serena's being so close together in the draw is actually unfortunate....

Michelle Larcher de Brito won her first won match over Meghann Shaughnessy. Brito is only about 13- or 14 It's amazing. People at TW fourms are going crazy, lol

Burrito ended up going out to Danka. 7-5 6-0. she served double digit DF's.

When I first saw her last name that's the same thing I thought about. Pushed her in the first set though for only a 13 year old that's an amzing accomplishment.

not surprised about Kim losing, nor can I say I am all that sad. Her last year on tour has turned into some big joke. She barely plays, she is skipping RG, quite possibly the USO too. She is only playing like 4 more events throughout the year. Then when she bothers to leave the kitchen and the cookies at home to play an event, she doesn't seem to care. People always used to say Kim didn't have the heart of a champion, she is showing it more than ever now.

Serena def. Sharapova 6-1, 6-1
Didn't think it was possible for Serena to lose less games than the AO final.

Serena's learning curve is actually becoming really, really scary. It is scary to say, but, if she keeps on playing matches like this, we might see her at number 1 by the end of the year....

Sharapova's serving problem is really getting out of hand (kind of like mine). Its a mental thing I think for her now.

Henin vs. Serena is the final.

Serena Williams has captured her fourth Miami title. She recovered from being handed a bagel in the first set to beat Henin, 0-6 7-5 6-3. She also saved 2 match points.

Great comeback for Serena. She really was playing bad in the first set. And picked it up in the 2 and 3

I don't like the new trophy, I prefer the punch bowl better.
But Serena looks good with it!

Fine, point taken. He probably still felt pretty good though.

OMG, how did Henin let that slip away....
That's the difference between the two: Serena can bounce back from such a horrible first set, while Henin seemed to have whithered under Serena's power in the third. No one is stopping Serena....

As I was watching the match, I thought that it was a sure thing that Serena would go down in straights.... at that moment I thought that is was still a wonderful achivement being able to reach the final without loosing a set and beating Sharapova 6-1 6-1. I said to myself that Serena would be back and she would beat Justine at the next opportunity.
Little did I know that she would survive and break Justine in the 10th game and then go on to turn the match around the way she did.
Serena is just AMAZING!!!

Just watched the highlights. How Henin let that slip away is hard to believe. She was absolutely phenomenal. Must have been that missed backhand on the break point which broke her. Serena hit some crazy shots in the second half of the match....
