Mary and Pam made a good point, when Serena said "I'm going to have a good year", she did the Serena slam.

Now, that she's saying she's going to get to number one, who are we to doubt her?

I understand this is not that intelligent or logical, so feel free to poke holes in this statement.
I just want this to be around when she does it.

Just pulling your leg... I don't think Serena can reach that apex rank by the end of the year, but getting back into the Top 10/5 is always a possibility.

She will not get to No1 even though she may win this AO. I just doubt that she can maintain her effort to last a whole year.
I saw her whole match tonite and I enjoyed it. Serena barely beat Peer and Peer is not in the top 10. Peer is a good player but her serve is lacking. If Serena faced any of the top tonite she would loose in 2 sets.

Anyhow, I do enjoy having Serena back and I am rooting for her. I just don't think she can get back to No1.

Btw I am rooting for Clijsters first and then Serena.

There is no way she will get to number 1 this year. Serena is only playing 12 events this year, and after the A.Open, she may find it hard to keep playing at this top level over and over again in her current state of fitness.
