Oddly, Serena isn't in the draw.

She probably pulled out at the last second with another mysterious illness

She didn't. The WTA requested it for her, hoping to have her play, but she didn't go.

Well the WTA should have known better to ask her to enter a tournament.

I'm surprised that she didn't take it. She seems more fitter and everything. I thought she would be anxious to play more and show the world that she is still a tennis star and still wants to win.

Is she a Tennis Star or a Fashion Designer

That's good. We can only hope she will show flashes of brilliance there. I miss the old Serena, she was so awsome to watch.

she will have to say it until she stops being lazy and plays a real schedule, not, "Oh, I can be bothered to play this week".
She has also said different, Tennis-X lists one of her quotes as, "I'm an actress, model and athlete, and I'd put athlete third on the list."
She has yet to prove she is dedicated to tennis, she got some good results, yet still does not play the schedule of someone who looks like they care.

I can only hope the old Serena returns to form. I really think she got way to wrapped up in other things and strayed away from tennis. She can be brilliant if she wants to on the tennis court.

I don't know whether she will actually stay dedicated to tennis... we will have to see whether she 'becomes bored' or something like that.

injuries played a major role in her not playing, it's not like she was healthy and just didn't want to play.
And the death of her sister played a major role in her not playing this yer and taking a "mental break"

Well, Patrick, I think a major criticism she has been receiving is that she wasn't totally dedicated to getting healthy again... she sort of did the other things, like designing and acting, instead of doing some little excersises. I guess there are two views to this....

i don't think any of us knows what happens behind doors, so we don't know how hard she was working. But from watching the for real episodes she was clearly in pain at times. And was in tears because her coatch told her not to practice but she wanted to and wouldn't leave the court till she started hitting better.

I really dont think Serena LOVES tennis, like I do, or most of you do Im sure. I think she Loves winning and Loves competing and Loves travelling. She said in Tennis Magazine, "I love my job. I get to travel all over the world and experience new things blah blah blah". Not because she loves the game itself. Of course she doesnt have to, its just what makes her Not one of my favourites, if she had a love for the game, like Martina Navratilova(well, maybe not THAT much) I'd appreciate her a lot more. We all know her dad got her playing because of the money...

We are so much more intrested in tennis because we haven't played as long as she has. She should look to Sharapova way of doing things. Tennis Tennis Tennis and then make a couple of weeks to to take a break and do fashion and what not
