[Season 4] (Day 7) PSALT's Blog #4My blogs have become unbearably repetitive, arrive, practice, lose, head to the airport. I can however, promise that I win a match here. On with the blog.
So, I arrived in beautiful Scotland a couple of days before my first match. After checking into my hotel, the first thing that caught my eye was a news report about the ITF’s own schizo, Ying-Chang. Apparently, she is a druggie. Not too surprising considering she sued a spectator at one of her exos against Mollusk in the off-season not too long ago for cheering against her. She’s all in all a fruit loop.
My first match was Tuesday, so on Monday I did the normal routine. Breakfast, ect., ect., I wanted to practice with Dave that day, but unfortunately, he was booked. So, in a last ditch effort, I asked NEA to practice with me. He was of course free, as a general rule people avoid him, and agreed. Now, do not worry about me, I made sure to wear a cross.
That afternoon I did a little sightseeing, my favorite being the Dunblane Cathedral. I will skip the boring parts of dinner, ect, ect, on with my match. I woke up, had a quick breakfast and left as early as possible. I was not risking anything, Fulgora was fresh meat that I would take advantage of. I arrived and did a little hitting with my coach, watched a little of Leftys match against little Chicky, it was quite fun to see Chicky waddle around after balls, waddle, waddle, waddle, waddle, hehehehe.
My match against Fulgora was second on; I made sure to give Fulgora my ‘kiddies’ speech. Telling her that the media is picking her to make the final, I also slipped in that I heard a rumor that Wilson was looking for a good, young, talented player to sponsor to try to break into the S. Eastern European market. It worked; she was sweating bullets before the ball boy tossed her the first ball to serve, which she dropped. The first set was a blur I played strongly in it. The second set was much of the same. Her pain and suffering was over in a little under an hour.
I had a modest celebration with my coach and team, a little Veuve Clicquot, nothing fancy. Wednesday I hit with NEA again, then watched his match against Ronatta. I will spare you the rest of my day, simply another day just practicing and little else.
Finally, Thursday came. Leftys is notorious for always beating members from the ‘Promised Generation’. Then in interviews she feigns ignorance, ‘I don’t know!’ she will say, ‘I just always manage to beat them for some reason!’. She beats them because she is desperate. She messes with people’s head, takes any opportunity to sabotage their racquets, need I mention her wiping away a mark on clay against NEA as soon as he asked the chair to check it? I also happen to know for a fact that she tripped Dave walking out to court here a year ago. Anyway, the result of my match is likely posted somewhere on the website of some ignorant fellow who runs a site dedicated to his hero Leftys, who he really doesn’t know.
I fly back to the States, the Williams Series is of course coming up.
