SI: Wow! What a fantastic tournament leftys_rock! Who would have thought at teh beginning of the week you could have played such perfected tennis at the highest level and outclass the best in the World? We all knew you had a chance, but to do it in that fashion? No one would have thought. How does it feel to now be one of the leaders of the great movement made by the young players of tennis?
leftys_rock: Thanks! I most certainly would never have thought so either. It just came together for me at the right time I guess. Well, I wouldn't be considering myself a leader quite yet. NEA and PSALT have made great movements in the rankings and Dave, J-man, and x.doublea are getting up there as well. I think it's great that we are doing very well, but I wouldn't really call us "young" players anymore. But it's very nice that we are starting to win bigger events now.
SI: Unfortunately, recently, you have also been in the news because variously players are protesting that higher ranked players, such as yourself, are entering lower level tournaments. Are you offended by this, or do you think you have your right to enter whichever tournament you choose?
leftys_rock: Of course I am a little offended, but I know that they have a right to be mad. However, that's not going to make me not enter lower tier events. This is my first lower event of the season anyway. But my schedule is my business, so I don't have to change it. But I thought I have improved majorly on not entering lower tier events. I entered them exclusively last season, but I made sure I didn't enter too many this time.
