Tennis Canada: Wow! Congratulations x.doublea on your fantastic run at the US Open! Are you pleased that you have made two semifinals and two quarterfinals at the Grand Slams this year?

x.doublea Yes, definitely, I'm pleased. But, I could have done better. Especially at Wimbledon. I was really disappointed about my showing there. Like, I thought I could have done better than a quarterfinal straight-sets loss. But, overall, I think this year's Slams showed that I can play with the top players. I could have done better, though.

Tennis Canada: Now, x.doublea, since you gained many points through the US Open, you have now entered the Top 10! First Canadian to do so. What's left for you for the remainder of this season?

x.doublea: Well, I think I'm still in the race to the Federer's Masters Cup, so I'll be looking forwards to trying to make it. I'll probably play all three of the remaining Teir I's, although I might substitute one of those tournaments for a Teir II. Then, of course, on the last day of the open season, there is the Canadian Open! I'll certainly be there, and I wish I can win it for Canada!

Tennis Canada: We certainly hope you'll win it, x.doublea. Now, there has been some talk here in Canada that you and stevos14 are both in a tight fight for the Number 1 Canadian ranking. What do you think of this 'race'?

x.doublea: Well, I'm a full 800-or-so points clear, so I'm safe for the moment. I think our rivalry has sort of died off, actually. We don't get to play each other in tournaments! He plays a lot of Teir III's and IV's, and I play mostly Teir I's and II's. He's really talented and improved this year though. I expect things to get quite tough next year.
