Tour veteran Puellus has gone along with his decision a few months ago to retire from the FTL tour. He has had a very decent career and came close to breaking into the elite of the tour. His best season was just two years ago, when he enjoyed a brief stay in the top 10, at number 10. His season was highlighted by his first and only title at the Murray Indoors, and a grand slam QF at the French Open. In the 3rd round of that French Open, he beat Bizet, then ranked at 6. When he got to the top 10, he couldn't sustain his high level of play, and slowly his form deterioated. He remained in the top 20 for a while, but then results got poorer and his ranking dropped. This season was miserable for him. Soon after a disappointing and sad exit from the Murray Indoors, his favourite tournament, he considered retirement. He had one last taste of success at the Moroccan Challenge by reaching the SF, but even that didn't change his mind. His last match is better forgotten for him and his fans, a 6-3 6-3 loss to Jbors47 in the first round at the French Open, on a lowly outside court. He has played many good matches in the past, the best being his memorable 4-6 7-6 7-6 win over NEA at the Murray Indoors two years ago. He has had a good career and has ambitions to be Tournament Director at the Murray Indoors.
