ITF: Congratulations on a great, if not surprising, Semi-Final placing at the first Grand Slam of the year, x.doublea. Exactly how much did beating Bizet, world number one, mean to you? And do you feel you have lived up to the hype of being a "dangerous floater" or a "dark horse" for all of this years Grand Slams?
x.doublea: I'm so happy that I beat Bizet. I think it was one of the best matches I have played in my career. I did everything right, and that match really showed my potential, in my opinion.
I really don't think I was ever a 'dangerous floater' prior to this AO, despite my Teir II win at the beginning of the season. Like, before, I was labelled by many as the player who had no weaknesses who stumbled in the early rounds of the Grand Slams. Making the semifinals alone is such a joy, and beating the World Number 1 on route makes it just that much sweeter.
ITF: You have reached a career high ranking and are rapidly being labelled one of the tours brightest young stars. Who do you see as your rivals on tour right now? How about fellow Countryman stevos14, is there any tension between the two of you with being from the same Country and competing for the same crowd?
x.doublea: Well, stevos14 is such a talented player. I think we're really good friends. Like, we are total opposites on court, in my opinion. I'm very calm, and I rely on playing with guile and playing consistantly, while stevos14 relies on those thumping groundstrokes and his energy. He loves to get the crowd into it and on his side, while I prefer just to focus on my tennis. Sure, he's a rival, but only in tennis terms. We have no tension between us as people, or because we're from the same country. Although, I'm sure that if I woke up as him, and he woke up as me, we would both a bit nervous as to what will happen.
As for others, I don't think I'm in any PSALT-Not_Even_Amateur or leftys_rock-J-Man rivalries, although I have had good matches with dav6789 and leftys_rock before.
