ITF: Congratulations dav6789 on making the semifinals of the Australian Open! You showed class the entire tournament, and you are now surely the new tennis hero of thousands of fans. You lost to John Edelstein in a tight three sets, but that match could have gone either way. How does it feel? Do you feel good because you have made it so far into a tournament, or upset that you didn't go all the way?
dav6789: Thank you very much, I am thrilled right now with how everything is going! I have had a lovely start to the year and am very confident. Reaching the Australian Open semis is a huge boost for me. Before this I had never really been able to play well in the grand slams, but now I know I can. John Edelstein is the best player on the tour right now so there's not too much disgrace in losing to him. I am disappointed as I had a clear lead in the match, but his experience helped him pull through. He pulled out some wonderful shots on the crucial points so there was not much I could do but hang in there.
ITF: We have always speculated that you are rivals with other players, but many, such as PSALT, always say that you are too nice to be a rival with. Do you consider yourself in the middle of any sort of rivalry?
dav6789: I don't really know. I am friends with alot of the other younger players. Since we play most tournaments together and I see them all the time, I don't have any intentions of being their enemy. I have played against them alot in the past and we usually have great matches together. I don't think I have played one particular player an outstanding amount of times so I don't consider myself in a rivalry right now.
