Christmas Times: Congratulations stevos14 on winning the Christmas Island Tournament! You played some really strong tennis today, beating both the first and second seeds. How do you feel about your form ahead of the Australian Open? Do you feel like you can make a huge run there?
stevos14: Thanks a lot. Yes, well I just had a great week on the Island and played my best tennis in my career probably. I really enjoyed it and the crowd really got behind me, especially in the incredibly close final match between me and Dav6789. I mean it was great tennis and the crowd loves me. I just use that to my advantage.
A lot of the time I get through matches by being angry and using my anger to fuel energy through me to pull off tough matches, but the thing about Dav is that he's such a nice, likeable guy its hard to get mad. Its really a good strategy he uses, and it was giving me a hard time getting my emotions together. So I'm really proud of this win.
I guess I'd better dust off a spot on my trophy shelf, right next to my Santoro Magician Games win last Season.
This does give me a lot of confidence going into the Australian Open, and I hope to make a great run there, I feel I am becoming better known so the crowd will be buzzing about me. That will be a nice change. I really think other players are going to start to worry when they see me in their draw. Watch out, cause I'm comin'.
Christmas Times: Thanks to you and your friend x.doublea, who happened to win the New Zealand International today, Canadian tennis has never looked this bright. Critics are already saying that Canada looks awfully strong for the far-away Team Cup. Do you feel Canada's finally becoming a threat in the sport of tennis?
stevos14: Oh definitely! x.doublea and myself have really put in the time and energy, and look how it paid off this week! Im really happy for him and for Canadian tennis. We did make the final of team cup in season 1, losing in a tiebreaker, so I think its always been known we're a threat.
Christmas Times: Thanks, stevos, and good luck at the AO!
