[Season 3] (Day 36) PSALT's Preview: Ljubicic International
It is the one season anniversary of my preview (anybody that wishes to send me presents are welcomed to do so, I expect nothing cheaper than $100, so don’t be cheap!) With the race for the YEC really starting to get going, a title here would be invaluable for the likes of NEA and J-man. How cruel that one will knock out the other in the quarters, fun, fun! Now, all the top seeds have difficult draws. Jennacourt will need to go through either Avolt or Ying-Chang (whose court case against members of the crowd at the ProKennex Charity was refused a hearing, she has been sentenced to weekly A.A classes however), NEA and J-man has already been discussed, Dave has Mollusk (Mollusk came forward about his years of psychiatry due to his ongoing embarrassment of his name after the Charity event as well) in his quarter, then Bizet was given Yodavitch. Besides those matches, there are some interesting matches in the first round, J-man-Dreyfus, Aztec-Mollusk, and Yodavitch-Stroganoff. For my favorite am bypassing Jennacourt and looking at Dave and, surprisingly I know, NEA. Jennacourt lost all the confidence people had in her with her world-class choke in NY. She proved that even though she won Wimbledon, she is still the same old Queen of Choking she always has been. I also am not picking Bizet due to his poor form since the French. So, I will post my interview. I have Stevos today,
Q. What in the world had happened to you? You went from promising young talent, to first class choker!
Stevos. I'm not sure how to respond to this, first of all, Jbors has been in incredible form, I'll wait until his fairytale run dies down and then I'll start taking it to him. As for the other losses, well, I have been having some personal problems that may have led to some loss of focus on the court.
Cry me a river
Q. You have exchanged words more than once with American Jbors who by most standards had surpassed you in accomplishments. Jealous much?
Stevos. Accomplishments? Sure, he made the USO semis, but I will definitely actually win a slam before him. Other events he won were mostly his youthful confidence and other players didn't really expect all that much from him maybe. He has been playing pretty well I guess, taking out the number one and all. But number one ranking doesn't always equal number one player all the time.
Was that supposed to make any sense?
Q. You achieved your first seeding a Slam in New York, how memorable was that for you when seeds were announced?
Stevos. That was really exciting for me, truthfully. I have been working so hard this year, winning a few titles, getting to a bunch of finals. It's such a great reward for all the hard work. Some people might think I just get by on my talent and great confidence, but I do train a lot. Practice makes perfect, and I'm starting to perfect some more shots so I can do more to be on the aggressive. What was the question about again? Oh yeah, being seeded was good, but rather unluckily I had to play an in-form Agassi2000 in my first match. He's really been on fire, I can't believe he isn't getting as much press as me. What can you do?
Q. Q. What is your opinion on Child? Twice this year she has been out with an "injury", only to storm back with vengeance, does she blow things out of proportion on purpose to mess with opponents heads?
Stevos. Oh, Child. She is a diva for sure, but really when players go off on her saying that she is making stuff up, injuries and all that, I really think there's jealousy involved, or just plain bitterness. She is a great talent, probably the best thing for tennis during the first two seasons. Fans love her. Now I'm not sucking up or anything like some other players, but I really respect her and I think anyone who thinks she is a fabricator is full of, ummm, it.
He say’s he not sucking up; guess chokers need to befriend better players…..
Q. Who are your eight YEC qualifiers?
Stevos. Well, clearly Jennacourt, Child, Edelstein (if he sticks around), Bizet, and Tricatrina are shoo ins, but it’s pretty heated for the 6-8 spots. I think PSALT should make it, since he has little points to defend, as well as Dave, who has been super consistent all season. Phobe could get passed, but I kind of doubt it. The way he schedules, even if he doesn't do well he has lots of points to back him up. Not_Even_Amateur will have to do really well to get by him, and maybe X.doublea if he does really well.
