MR: Congratulations stevos14 on your third title of the season! With this, you have been crowned by many as this year's dominant player of the lower tiers (Tier III and IV). But, recently, if I remember correctly, you said that your game was really of Top 10 material, and that what was lacking was experience. Does this win here in Morroco solidify your claim?
stevos14: Yes, I think I've proven that I can win these lower tournaments, but I'm worried about the bigger ones, I feel I need to keep entering these lower ones for a bit, get my ranking up so I can maybe get seeded at a tier 2 or 1, and then work from there. But yes, my season has been fantastic so far, I am loving all the titles I finally have, its really such an amazing feeling to hoist that trophy, thinking "YES! I am the best player here, and I will always have this memento to prove it". But of course winning isn't everything. I play because I love the game, and I love that I get to entertain great crowds. It really was a great crowd here, I feel like I used them as my greatest weapon. No one wants to be booed when they miss a first serve, but it happens and I think it would be hard for players to handle. It must've made a factor in the final.
MR: You have also shown signs of a potential rivalry with American PSALT. What do you think is the cause of this?
stevos14: PSALT and I have ALWAYS had our differences. We have had countless arguements, and have each had colourfull words to each other. I've found he has sometimes been really condescending towards me, maybe thinking I am only a tier IV player. He is a great guy and all, we just can't seem to feel the same way on most topics. Our Head-to-Head has also been interesting. He leads right now at 4-3, but I was the first to make a dent in it, and I'm obviously playing amazing right now. I really think I can win our next match. He made great runs at the Australian Open, but the way he has been playing you'd think he would FINALLY make that final push. Good on him for making the finals and all, but I believe I will be up there in the rankings with him soon. I am on fire!
And I mean, a rivalry is great for entertainment, so I think the fans love it. But I'll tell you right now I think the fans might be a little more "supportive" of one player in it, and fans normally root for the underdog. I think I gained a lot more fans at, where was the last place I won? Morrocco or something? Ya thats it. It was good, my website has really been getting a LOT more hits a day.
