LTA: Congratulations dav6789 on your great run at the Serena event! You dazzeled us all by your on-court focus and great play. How does it feel to have the label of "One of the best players in the world" now?

dav6789: Thanks! I feel great about my whole season so far. It has been amazing. I have managed to find another level in my game and am much more intense and focused on court. I have really improved over the last year or so. I am pleased to be in the top 10. Everything feels a bit different now I am a top player, with more interviews, sponsorship offers etc.

LTA: Our other tennis star, N_E_A, recently mentioned that with your entry into the Top 10, you and he mgiht actually start having a rivalry, despite the fact that you're so nice. What's your response to this?

dav6789: I don't think we really have had a rivalry in the past because we just haven't played each other enough. We both got to the top at different times, at different tournaments. Now that we are both in the top 10, we will be playing each other more in the larger tournaments. I was glad to get that win at the Serena tournament just to make things a bit closer.

I don't think you have to be enemies to have a rivalry. Being from the same country adds a bit more tension onto our matches, but we have to play Team Cup together so we do get along.
