BBC Sport: Congratulations N_E_A on making the Federer Masters Cup! You have really made all of the UK proud that we have a representative in the most exclusive tournament. Now, unfortunately, there have been some criticism. In a recent interview, the American, PSALT, said: "It's not a problem. Since NEA has entered he has done nothing. He has held on to that number 8 position by the skin on his teeth. Only because Ying-Chang has been playing horribly is he there. With this final I think I showed again, just like the AO, who does better in the big events. There is no doubt in my mind he will go 0-3 at the YEC and show to the world he should not have been there." What's your response to this?
N_E_A: Well, you know, I think PSALT perhaps lets his tongue run away with him a little, unfortunately. You know, he has always claimed he is a better player than me...I just do not think he could handle the fact that the interviewer told him what the world knows: he isn't.
I never noted PSALT as a jealous person; but obviously he is, he seems to be willing me to lose at the YEC, which is a shame I suppose...I would never wish that upon anyone, a real shame. It is extremely interesting this comment on a number of levels. Is PSALT in denial? No, seriously...
The last two Grand Slams I have been the last "up and comer" (if you like) standing...the last two. That is me out performing PSALT; I think he has had that lucky Australian Open Final and all of a sudden thinks he is king of slams. Well, each to their own, but I am glad everyone else sees the truth.
BBC Sport: So, you don't consider him a threat to you in future matches?
N_E_A: Of course I do, of course I do. PSALT is always a threat...I mean I do lead our Head to Head matches but even so PSALT is a threat. I feel I am the superior player right now, but that could change tomorrow, next week, next month, next year or maybe never. Tennis is subject to change all of the time; who knows how PSALT will do next year? He is always a threat, as are most players on the tour...none more so than leftys_rock! I admire her tennis.
BBC Sport: Thank you, N_E_A, and good luck to you at the Masters Cup and next season!
