[Season 2](Day 42) PSALT- USTAUSTA: PSALT, congratulations on your first ever finals appearance at a Teir I event. Ever since your finals appearance at the Australian Open, we have been eying your closly, and now, you have done it again! How did you manage to overcome such a tough field to make it that far into a draw filled with stars, including John Edelstein, who you beat in the first round?
PSALT: Thank you very mcuh. Since the Australian Open I have had a alot of pressure on me, mostly from myself. I got to the final of a Major alot of people, including myself, expected... you know maybe a Tier II or I victory. Make some deep runs at Slams. I didn't do that. I struggled from the AO onward. Only a handful of finals, and only one title. My quest for a title became almost desperation for one, to keep up with the like of NEA, Dave, Leftys, and J-man who seemed to be winning titles left and right. I think the experience of those failures after such an amazing fortnight humbled me, not to sound to mushy. I came into this event with no expectations whatsoever.
USTA: Unfortunately, you won't be able to make an appearance in the Year Ending Championships this time, but we're sure you will make it next year, despite the pressure. What do you think you will do next season in order to ensure that you remain in top form throughout?
PSALT: Haha, no problem. I am fine not being there this year.
It's difficult to really say. I mean, there is little doubt in anyone's mind that if I am confident and on, I can beat just about anyone. To play my best I just can't collpade under pressure set by the media, like I did this year. Most importantly though, I need to relax the pressure on me. I know what I can do, I know I can be the world number 1. Who do I have to prove that to? NEA doesn't believe me? To hell with his opinion. I know what I can do. That will be the key to success come next year.
