That is a shame. Rusedski was a great player over the last decade and a half and hopefully will be remembered on the ATP tour. He wasen't the most talented, but had one of the best ever fighting spirits and was one of the most commited players out there. When you consider the amount of problems he faced in his career (loads of people going against him when he turned British which was extremely unfair, many injuries, false drug tests), it makes his achievements even bigger. I just wished he sustained his best form for longer into this century. He came within 1 point of becoming world number 1 when he held a match point in the Vienna final in 1997. If he had won that, I think his career would have been even better. He has alot to be proud of and can now enjoy life knowing he put everything into his career. He has nothing to be ashamed of. | ||||||

You mean that he was not originally British? I did not know that... and how do know so many details, to know that he was 1 point away from becoming world no1. You amaze me with all that knowledge on British tennis

I was never a fan of Greg's. To tell you the truth I never give him the light of day. But he had game and I hope some will remeber him. | ||||||

Rusedski's retirement, to me, marks the eminent end of the Agassi-Sampras era... only Henman & Bjorkman truly remain, and they are pretty much near the end as well. It's sad, but it had to happen... at least he went out on a high note. I still think one of his most satisfying moments was at the 2005 Canadian Masters. He made the semifinals (lost to Agassi), but that was the tournament where the Canadian public truly 'forgave' him. I think he must have felt gratified then... he deserved to be embraced. | ||||||

I don't know much about Greg. But who do you think accomplished more: Tim H or Greg R? |

Always thought that Tim did more, but maybe I am wrong. I did not know Greg came so close to No.1 |

Greg had 1 GS final and he won 4 tournments of grass. Henman didn't win any tournments on grass and no GS finals. But had a longer and more consistant stay at the top of the game | ||||||
