Okay, so I want to keep talking about FTL, cus I'm bored/excited about next season!
Please Answer these questions
1. Will Benchwarmer and/or Tennis_Fan have a breakout season a la Jbors, or have a steady low tiered season?
2. Who will be the next member slam winner?
3. Will PSALT live up to his Australian Open/YEC hype once again, and finally pass that final barrier ?
4. Will NEA have a much better season compared to last, and remind us why he was so great?
5. Will Dave slowly get more and more out of his sportsmanlike self and knock some heads?
6. Will Stevos FINALLY make it past the R32 of a slam?

Yes, I think Benchwarmer showed great play in Team cup, and after his first title win, more to come. But I have a feeling he will have a season like my last. I have mixed feelings on tennisfan, not sure if he will improve his results very much or not.
2. Who will be the next member slam winner?
I pick Dave, I think he is pretty consistent of a player, and can hurt anyone on any day. He should catch players off guard at the Australian.
3. Will PSALT live up to his Australian Open/YEC hype once again, and finally pass that final barrier ?
I don't think PSALT will even make the semis, not to be mean, I just don't think he can keep up such a good Australian streak. he did well to get there the last two seasons, but one more? I think it's asking too much of him.
4. Will NEA have a much better season compared to last, and remind us why he was so great?
Yes, he will. He got out all his wierd losses last season, to start fresh this one, and had a great run to qualify for YEC at the end of last season, I see him carrying his momentum into this season. However, I don't see him winning the French Open. No real proof, I just can't see it happening, a choke is in order.
5. Will Dave slowly get more and more out of his sportsmanlike self and knock some heads?
I think he will, he has gradually become a little distanced from his uber-nice former persona and has made some good, biting comments. I mean, he did get upset by Xdoublea for the sportsmanship award. Welcome rebel Dave He's back with a vengeance!
6. Will Stevos FINALLY make it past the R32 of a slam?
Oh man. I have such horrible results in slams so far, I'm surprised they aren't ridiculed even more. I mean, come on, getting stuck in the R32 4 straight slams, frig. This season is my turnaround.
7. Will John Edelstien retire?
I think we have at least one more season out of old faithful. I expect another AO win from him, not much else. He'll definitely stay for the USO imo.
8. How much will you enjoy the new Race ranking, and is it worth it?
I am excited about it, it should show us how things are going earlier on in the season, not just the previous year. It's definitely worth it!

They won't have the flood of results jbors had, but they will, surely, have increased success. I expect them to rise 10/15 spots.

My bets are on PSALT... at the AO. His current form is an indication of this. I would say, if PSALT doesn't, then it would be Dave or myself... we tend to show up at the Slams. N_E_A has a chance, but he has to regain more confidence before he can do it. Of course, J-Man and leftys, and even jbors and stevos, can't be left out of the equation.
3. Will PSALT live up to his Australian Open/YEC hype once again, and finally pass that final barrier ?
Yes... I think he will do it at the AO. I hope I pass that barrier before he does though.
4. Will NEA have a much better season compared to last, and remind us why he was so great?
He will have a better season, no question. Look for him to really catch his form during the clay court season especially.
5. Will Dave slowly get more and more out of his sportsmanlike self and knock some heads?
Oh, he's sort of already heading that direction.
6. Will Stevos FINALLY make it past the R32 of a slam?
Yes. At the AO.
7. Will John Edelstien retire?
Yes, he will. It appears that he's getting bored, so watch for his retirement next season... possibly right after the US Open.
8. How much will you enjoy the new Race ranking, and is it worth it?
It adds a totally new dimension to the game, and it will be a great indicator as to who plays the big events and who doesn't.

Didn't Johnny say in an interview that he wasn't for sure retiring though? I thought he was saying he was going to stick around for one more season.

Yes, I think he did, but making a statement like that is a pretty good indicator about his future plans....

Benchwarmer could do something special. Not sure about Tennis Fan though, he might have to wait another season.

I could win the Aussie, that is very possible if I can get to the later rounds. I struggle in early rounds, but am very good past the quarters. Dave could win one, NEA too. Dave will likely win the USO if he does, NEA the French.

Very possible. If I make the quarters, I would say there is a good chance.

How could he not have a better season?
He will start off a little slow, but he will have a good clay season, with a Tier I title.

No.

Benchwarmer is in better position to do better than me. However, I do expect to win at least one event before the USO.

Having no pressure, since he won't be defending as many points during the clay season, I expect him to be back! ...actually he started his comeback at the end of season 3

This question made me laugh! I was thinking about this same thing my self recently. Dave, please stay away from Stevos and JBors!! They have a bad influence on you!

Well yes. Otherwise, he should just give it up and focus on basketball!

He will probably retire at the USO.

It sucks! It is only for the people on the inside. The Tier Is fields are so small at 16 and there are no quallies either!

No breakout but may cause some minor shockwaves; mostly likely benchwarmer.

Not much better, but better. Bit more consistent but still nothing massively special, should qualify for YEC again.

He already has begun the transition; just as long as he keeps off of my back, I do not care.

No.

Not at all. No it is not worth it.

Depends on their scheduling. If they play too many low tier events, they won't get anywhere. Same applies for Jbors and Stevos.

Most likely PSALT or x.doublea. PSALT's best chances will probably be at the A.Open. I think doublea can win Wimbledon.

I don't know. I think it would be hard to keep his record up there. I would be very suprised if he got to the finals, or even the semis. Having said that, he is number 3 in the world so it's hard to count him out either. My gut feeling is no though.
4. Will NEA have a much better season compared to last, and remind us why he was so great?
Yes, no offense to him but anything he does would be better than last season. I expect him to peak during the claycourt season.

Interesting question. Apart from a few disagreements this season, I think I have been pretty good. Who knows what will happen, eh?

I don't know. He played way too many tier 4's last season which is why he was bad at the slams. He needs to reglarly play higher tier events if he is going to improve. Perhaps the US Open would be his best chance at winning 2 rounds.
7. Will John Edelstien retire?
Probably. After a slight spell of good form, he was poor last year. I see him retiring by Wimbledon if his results haven't picked up, or maybe as early as the A.Open if he loses early.
8. How much will you enjoy the new Race ranking, and is it worth it?
I didn't know we are actually going through with it, thought it was still up for discussion. Seems like a big waste of time and unnesseccary work for Percy. I don't like the system, I think it is unfair and inaccurate as to who are the best players of the year.

I think it will be the 20th. There is a possibility it will be changed because of Thanksgiving, which is that week.

No, you must schedule your own rest days, makes the most sense. After Grand Slam days are rest days.

As far as I know the events will not change. In a way it sort of preserves what the tour was like at the time FTL was created. Don't forget, FTL takes place in the future, so it wouldn't make sense to change the names of the tournaments. The event levels probably won't change unless I feel they really need to be.

I think I am going to change the starting date to Monday the 27th, only because I will be traveling over Thanksgiving and I don't want to have a bunch of problems in th first week of the season.

*ahem* Defending champion here. But yes, indeed you do own that event NEA. I feel it should get an upgrade in status though. 3 out of 3 finals! Quite an achievement. I'm not sure if I want to play that in season 4. Oh well, I have a couple weeks to decide. I can pretty much stack anything and I should gain points. Nada to defend until Hewitt and I don't expect to do so successfully. And then after that, nothing to defend until carpet season.

Not in a Tier IV, for you to defend your points in the same places is asking far too much, if you do then you might end the year number one because it would be that much of a farce!
Murray Indoors is more of a Tier III bordering on a weak Tier II. Leftys could be there, Dave possibly too, I wouldn't be suprised if Jbors or Stevos' were there also. Add yourself and I, and the draw will be very difficult.

Day 0: New Zealand or Christmas Island (RU points)
and then
Day 1: Sydney or Smashnova (Title points)
I have always played Christmas Island then Smashnova, but I dunno if I should make any changes?

it's up to you. while no bad could be said about you, due to the fact you are defending a final and a title, I think it would be good for you to play the bigger event for atleast one of those days.

With regards to y'all high ranked players entering the Murray Tier-IV, just remember that last year, this very action caused a big commotion with the protest from Rachy and Chikita Benita against you.
Personally, I don't care what you do, but I like to know ahead of time. This maybe an opportunity for me to enter the Demetieva Tier II on the same day. Otherwise, I can never make the cut in higher tier events.

I think you gave Stevos too much credit for how he played last year because he was obviously not on the same level as I was.

It is only for the people on the inside. The Tier Is fields are so small at 16 and there are no quallies either!
But yes, indeed you do own that event NEA. I feel it should get an upgrade in status though. 3 out of 3 finals! Quite an achievement. I'm not sure if I want to play that in season 4. Oh well, I have a couple weeks to decide.
