Hello everyone and this is leftys_rock blogging from London! And welcome to Wimbledon!
So, once again, back to my early start at 5 AM with a light jog around the grounds. It was nice, looking at all the grass courts and thinking about playing on them. I had brought my GBA on the trip, and I just got Topspin 2, so I played on it when I got back at around 5:45 AM. I went to the weight room and lifted some for an hour and I worked on cardio. As I had a bit of time before the restaurants opened, I biked around for a bit while listening to my mp3 player.
I went and ate a light breakfast and I went to the players' lounge to send some emails on my laptop. Vanessa Child also happened to be there. Her muscles seem unusually large lately; and when I had come into the lounge, she was taking a pill of some sort. She hid it when she saw me coming. Well, it seems suspicious, but I couldn't be thinking about that for a long time, as my match would be starting in a couple of hours.
I saw PSALT getting ready to do some hitting, so I did a few practice points with him. He has a great grasscourt game, so it was fitting to practice with him. My match with Harriet was due to start soon, so I told PSALT that I had to rest up for my match.
Well, I beat Harriet without much trouble, 2 and 3 on my worst surface. I happened to walk by the press conference room and saw NEA and dav getting ready to be interviewed. They seemed pretty pleased, so I took it that they had won their matches. My second round match was due to be a little later. It was to be against Phoebe, the 6th seed.
Oh well, I lost 0-6, 6-3, 6-7. Nothing to be ashamed of; I did improve from last year, losing to PSALT in the first round. Not too bad considering I got bageled in the first set. I stayed for the rest of the tourney and watched how my buddies did in the rest of the draw. PSALT had a nice QF run, losing to Vanessa Child(Hmm, maybe the bottle of pills had some influence).
I took a tour around England for the rest of the time. It was interesting, seeing all the sites. I rode on one of those double decker buses and I went in the Tube. It was a great experience riding them.
I went back to the lounge and saw that NEA had a nice SF run! However, I was quite dismayed to see Vanessa Child had won. Now that bottle of pills really seems like it is something. I'll think about it a little later.
I'll be on my long flight to Thailand tomorrow, so talk to you then! I'll be enjoying my break after 3 straight tourneys. So Ciao!
