Today I arrived at the airport early in the morning to make my
long flight to Japan. I got there, ordered a coffee from Starbucks,
wandered around the main concourse only to find myself in another Starbucks.
Odd. Bewildered, I sat down and reviewed my notes
that my coach gave me to prepare for my next match.
“Remember to use your weapons, they are your only chance
of winning a match this year.”
“Thanks for being so optimistic coach,” I thought to myself.
Oh, if I hadn’t mentioned it, I haven’t won a match yet this season.
Yeah, I know I am a rookie and all, but c’mon enough is enough. I
believe I have gone to three sets at least 4 times already. It is
very frustrating to train so hard and not produce any results. Anyways,
back to the notes.
“Remember to eat healthy and stretch a lot. Also remember
to stay away from the Japanese food; it will slow you down. Third,
find someone to work with over there cause I can’t make the trip.
Work on your serve, movement, and volleys. I think your forehand
and backhand have had enough work lately.”
Just as I finished reading up, I realized I had a plane to catch. I
made my way onto the plane: sitting in coach obviously because
I haven’t won enough money to sit first class yet.
I arrived in Japan, which I must say is one very unique place.
I did some sight-seeing and took some pictures.
I then went to the courts to work on my game. I saw
leftys rock blasting some serves and coming in for the
volleys, so I decided to ask her to help me out. Luckily she accepted,
even though she is my rival and all. I worked on my game and
received some much needed pointers from leftys. I hope I can pull out my
first win tomorrow. I am pretty optimistic about it, like I always am.
Who knows what will happen?
