Greetings from Argentina! I will be here for the next couple of weeks for the Gaudio Grand Prix this week, and Coria Claycourt Masters next week.
This is my first time in Argentina so I am excited to see what it's like. The 2 events I am entering are higher tier events, so it is a different feel than the other events I normally enter. Last week, I was one of the favourites, this week I am an underdog. There are alot of older players around like Bizet and Tricatrina who I don't really know. I am happy that Agassi2000 is here so I have someone to talk to in the locker room! My first match is against Ronatta tommorow afternoon.
I had breakfast with Agassi2000 today at the hotel. I didn't have too much to eat. I didn't do much before my match, just walked around the sight a bit. My match was the first on at 1:00 pm. I was relieved to win in 3 sets as I had a slight wobble in the middle. The conditions here are slightly different in Argentina, and it took a while to get used to them. After the match I had a long press conference followed bu an autograph session. By the time I got back it was 6:30 pm! Later on I congratulated Agassi2000 on his win over the 5th seed Sheila, and joined him and his coach for dinner at a great steak restaurant.
Today was my day off so I woke up late. I had a long practice with Agassi2000 in the afternoon, and had a drink in the hotel bar. I wanted to take it easy before my QF tommorow. My coach arrived today and will be with me until I leave Argentina. Last year he was with me at every tournament but now I am more used to the tour and he only comes with me to the bigger events.
I was nervous all day waiting for my 6:00 pm match with the top seed Bizet. My match was just after Agassi2000's match, which he lost. I had a good lead over Bizet but I couldn't sustain my level of play and Bizet just got better. I am happy with my tournament though and pleased with my form. I will be back next week at the Coria Claycourt Masters.
