Need help hitting deepI got tennis states coming up on Friday, and I need help hitting the ball deeper in the court. I know you are supposed to use more spin, but whenever I do that I usually end up hitting it shorter. Thanks for any help.

Hit higher over the net...next time you play, hit three feet higher over the net, and I'll guarantee all your shots will go deeper....

and is this for forehand or backhand? well to hit it deeper, yes it needs more net clearance, but try not to do that with a flat shot....it works better with topspin because it helps keep the ball in....

Yes, if the shot is flat, then the ball will only go way out....

By the way, if you were wondering why your shots land shorter as you add more spin, it's because your putting more air on top of the ball, hence forcing the balls to dip earlier than you want them to....

Good advice, I have my tournament tommorow so Im pretty excited. I also have a problem hitting deep and in but I will try some of the stuff you guys suggested.

No its a school-event thing. No stars or anything, just like regionals, then you move on to a deeper region, and eventually ofsaa but only ofsaa for seniors.

I see...I wish we had a deeper season. All we had is a CISAA (Conference of Independant Schools Athletic Association) final, and that's it, but I know some of the players on the first team are playing at OFSAA. I'm so jealous....

Yeah its states. We finished 2nd in our region but that qualifies you for states.
