Nadal at the U.S. Open '07Now that Nadal had pushed Federer to the very limit on Roger's favorite surface, how will he fare at the U.S. Open this year?

This is THE question. We will just have to wait and see. The last few years he has vanished, only to reappear briefly at the season ending tourney....only resurfacing again at Dubai.
But until he breaks this pattern we can only go on the emprical evidence of the last few years.
Since he has gotten so much better on Grass and mastered clay, in all logic he should be a beast on hard courts but aside from the Spring Master Series tourneys (Indian Wells & Key Biscane) he has been very vulnerable on Hard courts.

He is a creature of habit. He only makes small steps...
His end of the summer results are never good, following his brief vacations home. Maybe it is because of the hot Mediterraneaan summer sun in Majorka!

It's a tough call for Nadal. I don't think he will win it. The Usopen surface is very fast. I also don't think he will get to finals to lose to Federer. So I'd have to put my vote for lose earlier like usual. Maybe quaters.

Nadal definitely has a chance, but I feel that someone with a huge serve and an affinity for the atmosphere will give him a run for his money. But, I wouldn't be surprised if he did make the final.
