Even if you do really badly your French Open points should keep you in the top 20 for a while. And don't worry, you will win some other random huge tournament anyway

Yes, the odds were slim, but there was a small light at the end of the tunnel which I could have run towards. I tripped.

I don't think I have ever beaten Child, in fact she is the only computer I struggle with all of the time now. And same for PSALT really. She has taken over from Edelstein as the member-killer! Lets just say, for arguments sake, that dav and I qualify above Phobe, this is how I would rate the top 8 in terms of favourites to win the YEC:

I think Bizet should be higher. He did win a tier 1 recently and while not at his best always plays his best at the YEC. He has never lost here and is the twotime defending champion. Somehow he always does well, so I think that makes him higher on the list. But besides that I like your list, although you and Jennacourt should be tied imo.

The tournament is in the hands of the Gods, but it is uncanny I know what you mean. Everytime you are a favourite your crumble, just like I had a major collapse when people expected me - none more so than myself - to do well during the claycourt season! It is extremely uncanny. Also the way that leftys and j-man just totter about and win random tournaments! I am glad for once I upped my game, or rather found my game, when I needed it to qualify, just think how I said I had no chance before I won a Tier II and got to a Tier I Final back to back! Now I am pretty much there.
I do enjoy jinxing you but really that is impossible, honestly I think you have the second best chance after V!
