How to deal with this injury?

i seem to have pulled 2 muscles in my neck while doing curl-ups......it is making me uncomfortable when i serve......how should i cope with this?

I suggest you see a doctor or a medical expert as soon as possible; it might be a neck strain...perhaps it is a ligament or tendon which has been stretched or possibly torn. I don't want to give you any ways to cope with this because it might be wrong and you might injury something more. So, go see a doctor or medical expert and they might be able to tell you what's wrong and possibly send you to a therapist or something like that.

For the meantime, refrain from serving. I'm not sure playing will be a good idea either. I hope you will get better as soon as possible.

ok, im going to see a doctor in an hour.....i also seem to have a knot in the muscle in my right arm... Sad .....so im going to check on that too.....

Good Luck, I hope it is nothing too serious.

my doctor just said to not serve for a while......and my arm seems to be fine......i took an x-ray and no fractures......theres just a group of connecting muscles that are tight.....so i can't carry anything with my right arm for some time......but i seem to be pretty healthy.... Very Happy

Great news, You will be back to 100% in no time.

Yes, I thought that might be it. Did he recommend a therapist to you or anything? Because I know therapy can somewhat lessen the tightness. I hope you get better as soon as possible.

my doctor said that if it keeps hurting after 2 weeks, then i'll go see a sports therapist......but for now, just keep icing it and not do stuff to make it hurt......

I see...so are you still able to play tennis without serving? I'm sure you can, but I would just take it easy for now. Injury's never fun. In January, I sprained my ankle and I was forced to not play any sport for two-and-a-half weeks; which was very tough.

i'll try surviving with underhand serving.... Laughing ....actually, they work pretty well if theyre like drop shots......but yeah, our tennis team has a break this week, so i hope i can be better in that time....because we have playoffs the week after.....

Yes. I hope your recovery takes quicker than it should then, because it would be pretty hard to do well in the playoffs serving underhand.

I had a similar problem a few years ago...I suggest going to a Chiropractor for an adjustment. The pain was gone about 30 minutes after my adjustment. Besides it only cost about $25 for the adjustment, and your insurance may cover it.

Hope you recover quickly.
