lol.....i like the fact that im a lefty cuz theres only one other lefty girl in my grade, but in tennis my game doesnt really produce effective spins that knock my opponent off....its probably cuz i havent been using my spins right....

Lucy Safarova of the Czech Republic is lefty and she is 35 in the world I believe... she just own Gold Coast... beat Schnyder... good win for her... yep...

Yes, but there are alot of other players who are in the top 20 e.g Vaidisiva, Koukalova, Ivanovic. Safarova can get there, but its dificult. She needs to pick her game up in the slams.

Shes only played 3 slams, french open, wimbledon, us open 2005.
She lost in the first round of all of them. Just before the US Open, she won her 2nd title (Forest Hills). A couple of days later she lost to Dementieva.

But Forest Hills is something like a Tier IV tournament. It was probably hard for Safarova to adjust from Tier IV-level pace to the pace of one of the biggest hitters on tour in Dementieva.

Iveta Benesova, she's ranked 42. She got to the final in Hobart this week, lost to Krajicek.

yep.
melinda czink(hungary,no.114). anca barna(germany,career high no.46). also navratilova and monica seles. i think monica is planning to return to action this year. she plays two-handed on both sides so you can only see her as a left-hander when she serves.

she hasn't decided yet when she will return but she said if she wasn't able to come back by year's end it's more likely that she will retire. i do hope she can play at least one more year.

She's still undergoing fitness training, so she hasn't really entered any tournaments. Doesn't really matter, because she'll get all the Wild Cards she desires if she is ready.

Unfortunately, she said that if she doens not return by the end of 2006, she will retire. She's probably the most unfortunate player in tennis history.

if i play against other leftys, i get a little bit confused, but once i start hitting for a few minutes, i get used to it and play my game.....ive only played against two other leftys....

I agree when playing other lefties although I am one it still takes me a game or two to adjust to what I need to do. Then I settle down a do what I got to do to win.

Lefties are so tough to play. I am not one and I don't usually have to play against them, but when the rare occurance comes up it can be very frustrating to figure them out.

I find that it's just the opposite spin which gets me in trouble. I'm fine against them in every other way.

i remember i got my friend with a quick cutter forehand.....we're like hitting partners....so shes got a lot of practice with spins.....she gets frustrated cuz i do everything backwards from her, but she deals with it....

Whenever I hit a two handed backhand, my left wrist gets twisted.
